Question Help with Price for 2008

I checked the forums, KBB and eBay to see what they're going for but I wanted to ask here as well. I have someone locally that is interested in my car and want to make sure I offer him a fair deal.

2008 EVO X
Model: GSR
Package: SSS
Color: GG
Miles: 40k

Mods
Rota Grids 80% tred Continental DWS/ including stock wheels as well
Swift springs
Hotchkis rear sway bar
Racing Line rear endlinks
Hawk HPS pads 20k
ETS quite test pipe back
Nisei UICP
HKS panel filter
Accessport Stage 2
AMS shifter busings underhood and base
TWM short shifter
TWM shift knob

Not installed but included
AMS front mount
Whiteline roll center kit
Grimspeed 3port

* May have more mods that's off the top of my head.

Cars in very good condition never been involved in an accident. KBB says around $25,480 where I live. I was thinking around 24k does that seem like a good deal?

Thanks

What's the car *worth* to *you* ?
What do you owe on it? What did you put as a down-payment when you bought it?

I look at your mods and it's very basic bolt-ons and you had to do brakes (maintenance IMO). In reality you rarely get anything for your mods, unless you're selling them separate and even then if you can pull 50% value you're doing good. Obviously Grids look great and will help the car sell based on appearance, but they're Grids and not Volks, so maybe add +3-400 to what you want for the car.

IMO sell the AMS FMIC separately. You'll get more, and if the buying wants it, let them know it's listed on here in the classifieds, and I would ask for no less than 5-600 for it if it's BNIB sorta thing.

just my

Oh and pulling numbers out of my rear: If it's in excellent condition, with SSS package $21k. I bet trade-in offer is like 17-18k or something stupid, private party would go easy 18-20k. Gives some wiggle room. Also, since people can buy a '13 with a low interest rate that's what kills you for wanting to sell now. In two years or so, *if* they change the platform, and especially if it goes hybrid. I bet with 50-60k you could ask 21-23k ^__^ Hard part, right now at 5 years old, if someone is buying credit unions might not finance, banks probably will, but will be picky on price and condition (like they understand how to evaluate an Evo, amirite?), But, you'll be fighting people paying huge downs on their financing or cash-only buyers. Where as you can ask more later, but you'll be stuck with cash-only buyers due to age on it.

Thanks

KBB is a fallacy too. Edmunds is decent to use for evaluation. This is what Edmund's says
National Base Price Trade-In Private Party Dealer Retail
__________________$15,168 $17,037 $18,763

However, lots of dealers use NADA for evaluating a used car... NADA fights in your favor in this case (I included you having SSS because meh cats on the internet)

Nada says: _________$20,575 $21,575 $24,425

So, yeah I think I was right on the money with 21k

I don't owe anything. I understand that mods don't add value was just listing them. I was wrong with my KBB price however it's 23,480 excellent.

How much I get isn't a big deal (not concerned with selling the parts without the car) I just wanted to make sure I was offering the potential buyer a fair deal based on what they're selling for. I see people listing cars for sale but besides eBay it's tough to know what they actually sell for. I'm thinking 22k - 21k is a good price.

Thanks for the feedback.

I brought up what you owe, what you invested into a down on it, because that sort of stuff people forget about after a few years and when pushing a sale it's what gives you flexability or not.

I think if you ball parked what you're asking for you're being fair. Good luck on your offers!

Yea ill have to agree with ^^ 24k is a fair price. I been in a market for a X for past 2 months and I seen some garbage sh*t go for 25k plus. If u can put on the stock parts and let it go for 23-24k.

$22-$24 is a fair price in my opinion. $24 is a good price for you

I would price it according to what other cars are for sale for online like cars dot com etc.

Did even X prices drop recently?

The dealer offered me $24k for my '08 with 38k SSS/aero. That was only a few months ago in August

I would say you will have no issue getting $25k.

I wish you the best with your sale. If you said there are several people interested in the car, try to get as much as you can with it. Someone wanting an Evo REALLY bad will pay more than a person who's willing to wait for the right Evo to come along. In "my" case, I purchased a used 2010 STOCK WW Evo GSR w/ 26,000 miles on it for $26,000.
If I was in the market for one, the fact that your Evo has been modded (and most likely the warranty is void) I would offer you less just for that fact. If someone is going to buy the car and mod it anyway, the fact that the warranty is void probably won't mean anything. To each their own. I hope you get what price you're asking for.
