Some times ago my car started to consume oil, not much but depending how i drive it could get to 1 quart per 3000 miles. I have nerver observed smokes in the exhaust and at that time i checked the spark plugs which were fine.

Recently I started to smell burning oil after a long highway drive, coming to a stop. so i investigated a little bit more and found that I I have some oil leaking on the transfer case and on the downpipe.

Removing the heat shield i have tried to take some pics but there is not a lot a room!




After reading through the forums, i think it might be the turbo oil return/supply line leaking. But how did the oil got that far?

Any clue or advice on this one?

 

It's hard to tell from the pictures but sorta looks like you are right. I presume you can't get in there to check the oil supply line? I suspect you are going to need to start pulling this apart to sort this out.

I will probably take it to the dealer to have it checked, but I wanted to source the problem before. Just to be sure they are not bull****ting me...
