Planet Mitsubishi?

Has anyone dealt with this dealership getting an Evo X? I'm in the search for a new car and a few of their listings keep coming up. I tried to research to see if anyone from the Evo forums had any experience with them, but couldn't really find anything. Their reviews seem better than a normal Mitsubishi dealership. All the dealerships in my area are pretty bad.

Anyway, they have 2 Wicked White Evos that I saw with the SS package, a 2011 with about 17K miles and a 2012 with 9k(?) miles. The 2011 is priced at $27,000 while the 2012 is at basically $30,000. Those prices seem pretty low for me considering the miles racked up on them. I'm just wondering if they get "problem" cars and replace a few parts on them to make a quick sale. If I do go through with them, I am going to get a PPI at a good performance shop that has a good knowledge on the X and Evos in general.

Let me know if I should avoid them or not. Thanks!

I posted about them back in Oct when I was in the market, short answer is they were a massive pain in the @ss, horrible communication, wouldn't return calls when they said they would, very unknownedable about evos and I believe they also wouldn't ship their cars. There was anothervdealersip in my thread I made that was just as bad. I found a different dealership that was not as good a deal, but had great service so I went them and felt fine paying a little more.

I think there are two different Planet Mitsubishi. One in Hempstead, NY (Long Island) and one in Charlotte, NC. Which one are you referring to?

Gotcha. I spoke to the Planet Mitsubishi in Hempstead about getting new 2013. This was a couple weeks ago. They didn't have the exact car I wanted so we talked about placing an order. I've called back and not very good response time from them. They do have good pricing though. I will say to call them before you go. Their online inventory system is not accurate. Just call ahead to make sure the car(s) you're interested in are actually in stock.

There's a guy named Adam there - he's the sales manager. He seems like a straight shooter.

Thanks for your input! This is the 3rd day that's gone by without them contacting me back. I guess I'll just wait and see.

Ive dealt with planet mitsubishi before and they are shady and a bunch of crooks i put some money down to do a dealer locate since they didnt have the one i wanted waited 2 months then cancelled because of lack of communication. Couple months after they get the car and calls me up we agreed to a price then i go there and they tried to jack up the price by 1k i walked out. Also city mitsubishi is bad too they tried to sell me a 2013 gsr with ss +sl+led for 42k before ttl i said **** u...they said supply and demand i just laughed and walked out... i would def stay away from those 2 dealerships..

I just brought my car from them a month ago. You must be on top of them, they advertise about the prices but that's with a crap load of discounts you do not qualify for. If you live in NY just drive to the Dealership and speak to them. Talk about the numbers in person. I'm very happy with my purchase has everything i wanted for.

City Mitsu lost my sale because of the same reason. My friend brought his car from City, you must talk to the owner directly to get a good deal from them.

I ended up with the cosmic blue Gsr SSS model from them. It was the only dealership with a blue besides rt 22 in nj. But Charlie hooked me up. I went there in person and got it from them.

I had very bad experience dealing with them. They promised me some price over the phone and bumped it up when I went there in-person. Plus wanted me to finance through them, though I have mentioned multiple times that I have a pre-approved loan. I HATE THEM !

i bought my evo x from them in November, they had a salesman named matt (evo x owner) he knew what he was talking about. But this guy named Adam, he doesnt know anything!!!
Every time i called them after purchasing the car 'he was busy' but prior to purchase he seemed to be the most available person. They slam u with crazy interest! these are their steps to catch you:
1. test drive and what ever else before choosing the car.
2. agree on a price mine was 25K
3. make u call ur insurance company and get the insurance on the car
4. give them the downpayment mine was $15,000
5. Choose a number plate and put it on the car
6. sit down with Kenny (finance manager) along with adam and talk about numbers
7. Slam u with a crazy interest rate (mine was 12.x %)
then you find out that they are adding a extra warranty on the car without really telling you
(this was all after telling adam in the first place i can only pay 250-300 a month for payment during my first visit).
8. after refusing the warranty they brought my interest rate down 7.5 %
9. finally they brought it down to 6.7 %
10. 25K for the car + dmv fee+tax+"bank fee"+interest rate for 72 mo=42K

I ended up buying the car because i thought its a reasonable place.
They give u a "we owe u" slip and if it is not specific down to the letter they parts deparment doesnt honor it. The car i bought had the 'v' emblem missing from a evolution emblem on the trunk and also the mitsubishi logo. THe slip read:missing logo and V. Parts department said that it was one piece and not two. Didnt end up getting it.
Promised me 1 yr free oil changes...went there for the first oil change and they denied me the service. Thats the only time Adam came through and got it done for me. But refused to give me something in writing for the next oil changes.

Main point is bro, Look at other dealerships, if this is your last option then go for it. But make sure you get EVERY SINGLE THING IN WRITING.
Really bad experience with these guys. dont want anyone else getting caught

sorry for the length, but they really pissed me off!
