Cobb SF Intake Install Issue

Hello!

So I bought a used Cobb SF intake and perrin turbo inlet, and I ran into an issue with the cobb mounting bracket.

I have read that other forum members with 2010+ evo x also have this problem. The bracket is not shaped correctly to reach the instructed mounting holes. Im assuming the last owner had an older model evo x.

However, I discovered that the bracket could reach the bolt next to the fuse box. The bolt seems to hold onto a bracket for the ECU?

The bolt was extremely difficult to remove due to the immobile wire coil right above it. After removing the bolt, the bracket shifted, and major force was needed in order to line up the bolt and both brackets... Finally the intake was installed.

Now my question is:
What does this bolt hold? Is it the ECU?

Also, is it safe for me to mount my Cobb bracket onto this bolt, or did I do damage to my car?

Mostly, I am just paranoid and just wanted to check up with some more experience evo owners here.

Thanks!

*I have attached a photo showing where the bolt was that I mounted to. This is not of my car! Of course the photo showed the correct mounting position, but I was not able to reach that spot.

I drilled two holes in a scrap piece of steel and through bolted it to the bracket to make it reach the hole in the instructions. no issues

Hmm, I think we are talking about different mounting holes. The one that I mounted too already had a bolt in it, which held onto a large black bracket with tons of wiring. I just reused the same bolt that was in it to mount my cobb bracket along with the large bracket.

I believe you are talking about the hole below. I did see the hole but it was not threaded, which meant I would need to tap it. Too much work haha.

That is clever! haha. But I already have it mounted through much effort to the bolt on top.

I'm mainly asking what that bolt holds, and was it wise of me to unbolt it and then add the cobb bracket with it?

Thanks guys!

After installing the cobb intake and perrin intake inlet, I've noticed that my LTFT values have risen up to ~6.3

I am running the new v400 ST 93 octane map from my accessport. Previously, I only had a cone filter attached onto the MAF housing. With just the cone filter, my LTFT values were actually lower at around 2.3

Interesting how the LTFT values went up with the intake it was tuned for...

Also does anyone know what the bolt I am talking about is for?! haha
