resonator delete?

On my car i have the tomie expreme ti exhaust which is only catback exhaust
im sure many of you probablly know this
but my question is, is it posible to do just a resonator delete and replace it with the same diameter pipe
i only ask this cause i would like to keep the tomei exhaust but would like the car to be louder.

Remove catback altogether = LOUDER!

And to answer your question, yes you could cut and weld anything. Just expect to pay a bit more to weld Ti.

Yes, you can.

And now the thread will continue for 20 more posts while we debate whether you want to do this.

Put a test pipe on if you want it louder.

Can you recommend any test pipes or are they all pretty much the same?

Any test pipe will work as long as it has the bend in it. I personally have a tomei test pipe on a tomei expreme ti and it fits like a glove but im pretty sure the ets and so on will fit fine.

Pretty hilarious, eh? My guess is that the thread-starter is using the word "resonator" for "cat," because, as you so wonderfully pointed out, the Tomei Expreme doesn't have a resonator.

Just to complete this thought: the entire purpose of a resonator is to combat drone. This is why they need to be placed a certain location and the optimum location depends on the piping, whether you have a cat, what kind of downpipe you have, etc. If, after you have created your exhaust, it drones, then you can add a resonator back in. You can try to do the incredibly complicated math to calculate where it needs to be located or you can just use trial-and-error, starting with the OE location and tweaking. In contrast to how I approach suspensions, I suggest the latter route. Why? Because I can't do the math for exhaust flow.
