took it to a mechanic to get alignment and they told me I had the wrong place. lifted the car and a nice mechanic at Mobil gas told me my front lower right arm was bent. I am now wondering whether or not to buy an aftermarket or oem but oem is pricey and idk if the dealer will be cool with an aftermarket part

IMO go with oem.
You got enough to worry about.
Ain't nobody got time for that.

i dont think anyone makes a aftermarket front lower control arm..unless you are talking about the rear..

looks like you got a costly fix coming you, i suggest you hit up the boys at extremedsm they are from WA so shipping will be fast (enough)
he has some used parts that you can use. > https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...-part-out.html

OH and I HIGHLY suggest you take it to another mechanic for another look and see whats wrong (preferably) someone who has seen an evo x before
or find a local member where you can take a look and compare
your from glendale, ca ?

Have to agree with the last post - take the car to someone who's VERY familiar with the Evo X...

Our cars aren't Ferraris by any means but there are enough horror stories of shops who don't know what they're doing going about a repair the wrong way.

As far as OEM vs aftermarket - unless what you're looking at aftermarket is a SIGNIFICANT improvement over OEM i'd just stick with OEM stuff. Take a look at the Gates 311 - I don't think he swapped his lowers for anything aftermarket which means that the OEM is probably your best bet.

you might check out a junkyard for the LCA, it's not really a 'questionable status' part, and i'm sure there's plenty of them. I did that once over buying a new oem; it saved me some money.

Oh, haha, weird. well, car-parts.com is a yard-database, that's an option I suppose. Looks like they're floating around half price of a new one...

I found one for less than 200 but I am not sure completely if I should buy it and have it shipped or wait until Monday to ask a body shop

Dude if car is shaking over 40 you need to have it fully inspected. You might lose a control arm. Be careful!

Step 1: Evo is a unibody car, check the chassis professionally for trueness. Not expensive.
Step 2: check subframe

A wheel hit that is hard enough to bend the chassis of an Evo X is not one you just drive away from with a vibrating steering-wheel.

Care to elaborate there? If its me, I wouldn't be driving the car around with those symptoms after a curb hit.
