Steering "Unbalanced"

Hi all,

I recently picked up a 2013 GSR. Initially the steering wheel was a few degrees off center and the car would give more feedback turning right then left. I took it in, they did an alignment, which fixed the steering wheel angle.

However, the same issue remains. The car is much easier to turn left, then it is to turn right. That is the wheel will fight back to center much harder on right turns. On left, there is almost no fight. So much so that you can lock in a turn and it will hold it going left (at a low angle / speed). There maybe some slight pull to the left but it's hard to judge. Just looking for some input from anybody who might have been down this road.

Sorry for the post and cry but I haven't owned a Evo since 04 so I haven't been keeping up. Thank you in advance.

Did you get a printout of your alignment? It could be the culprit for this issue, if caster/camber are varied from side to side.

I asked for one, but they sent the car out for alignment. Which in general made me feel uneasy because what dealership can't do it's own alignments? Mind you this is a regular Mitsu dealership, just like any other.

Good alignment racks are expensive and take up valuable shop floor if it's not being used commonly.

There are many things that could contribute to this, ranging from an incorrectly installed bracket/bushing to damaged suspension. Just because it's a brand new car, don't discount the fact that something could be damaged. Think of all the transportation the car went through to arrive at the dealer!

Good luck. -Beau
