Stock block power limit

Hey guys i know there are a lot of threads about this, but I was wondering if anyone had any new info on this. The standard for stock block and internals has been 400 torque. Is this mustang dyno numbers, or dyno jet numbers? Has anyone reached safe numbers over 400?

I believe its on a mustang dyno. I was on a conservative tune on stock block/stock internals at 463/373 @28psi

Thanks man, ya I made 351/381 at 24psi on a virtual dyno, i know it's not entirely accurate but I know it's not far from it. Just wasn't sure if it was 400 mustang numbers

Just to be on the safe side i would go by 400 on a dynojet and about 360-370 on a mustang dyno.

Mustangs can be adjusted to read higher and on the other hand Buschur's Dyno reads so low it's made grown men cry. So basically the line of reasoning in this thread is moot. Best to just check with your tuner what they think is safe

My 605 was on a mustang dyno at R/t tuning. Believe me though if I dyno'd at Buschur I wouldn't even come close to that number.

So I got my car on my tuners dyno yesterday, turns out virtual dyno numbers are pretty far off. My original street tune got me 303whp on the mustang dyno, where the virtual dyno said I made 351whp with 381tq. Got the car retuned and was able to crank out 322whp 321tq at 25psi.

Typically mustang dynos read 10-13% less than dyno jets. But it all depends on the adjustments made

Torque is what matters. You could have 430WHP and 320WTQ, or 430+WTQ. Just depends on the tune and setup. With a medium-large turbo, it's very possible to have 500+WHP with a stockish redline and stock block friendly torque levels.

Yup. I know torque is what kills. Just wanted to know which numbers are acceptable on stock block/stock internals. I will eventually swap out my stock turbo for a 6266 t3 set up.
