fast key issue

I just bought my 13 last week. I noticed that the fast key button on the trunk doesn't work. Is there anything I should check before wasting my time at the dealership?

Check the wiring clip attached to the button. Quick and easy to remove the gray trunk lid liner and get to the back of the button where it should be connected to the wiring harness.

I push it twice quickly and it opens every time.

EDIT: the above is for the key fob.

If you are pushing the button on the trunk, perhaps something is interfering like a cell phone.

Busted!!!

I think I said excluding the Evo, I would never buy another Mitsu again. And if I didn't say that, that's what I meant

And if something happens to this car (stolen or totaled), I will probably still go out and purchase another Evo if they are still available (only new). When the X is no more, I honestly dont see myself buying another Mitsu. I simply dont like their lineup and their change in direction. Plus their warranty, although that is more of an issue with our poor local dealerships.

I didn't loose too much money. Of course I rolled over negative equity. But they took a few grand off the price of the car and I lowered my interest rate. In all my payments went up about $100 a month. But I think if you buy a base model or a nicely loaded model of any car, you will be looking at around a $100 a month difference. My 12 was a base model. My 13 has the SS, SL, interior package, and illumination package.

Make sure you have the key fob on you or near the trunk when you attempt to open

Yah. I've tried that. When I attempted last time I had the key in my hand and held it a couple inches away. I still need to try holding it down longer. If that dont work I will take the trunk cover off and see if it looks disconnected.
