The next severe condition service due in 500 miles, I got the oil filter Part Number : MD356000 from the dealer, and I'll be going with Mobil1 0W40 for engine oil.

Thank you guys for the info

Thank you guys

I changed the oil and filter today, the old filter was MICROGARD MGL9688

Replaced with Mitsubishi MD356000, is this one OK ? Because it's the only one available at the local dealer ?

It took 5 x 1L can of Mobil1 0W40 Full Synthetic oil, as per the catalog 4.8L for the engine and 0.3L for the filter.

Yes, this is the stock one, I like the look of it, but hate the drone from inside the car when going over 40

Billet Black round Shift Knob, got it off eBay for 20$

Removed after the 1st day of use, sure because it's getting so hot that I couldn't touch it.

Lesson Learned

I advise the first mod to wash it, do not increase the power, but it is a nice mod start : D: D

Cover it with a sock or something when you have it parked. And of course use a sun shade.

I've been to saudi and thought the 115*f heat felt better than 100 in Texas. It was a very dry heat but you do get sand blasted. I don't think I would use an open element filter but if you do, make sure to clean it pretty muh every oil change.

You need window tint (and remote start)
Good tint, a ceramic like huper optik, madico, and maybe even 3m crystalline on the windshield.

In such high temps you will have big power loss.
Your turbo wants a lot bigger cooler to overcome the power loss . Look for 4'' inch . I have to suggest ETS or HKS.
The maximum of torque will come 250 - 300 rpm higher but this is not a big deal.
Of course you will need to re-tune the ECU , but you must keep in mind that for every change you make bigger or less you have to do that. !!!
So you have to look for a e-tuner if you don't have anyone there.
Second put very important , 4b11 wants at least the oil density starts with 5w !!!!
NOT 0W , so you have to put oil 5W-40 (best for your climate) or 5w-30.
Is your mechanic from other planet ???? and he don't know that ? A very nice oil , i am happy with is Agip 5w-40 .
I am generally agree with what other guys says to you.

Wow, thanks for the great information guys.

I already have a black box alpine tint for all the car except the windshield because they didn't have it in stock, so I'll install it later.

I got the 0W40 because I'm assuming the digit "40" means that it can deal with higher temperatures and it's easy to find it here although it's little expensive.
I didn't find the 5W40 so I think I will replace it with 5W30.

:momostallion:
I'm afraid of getting an intake system because of sand particles, so I have to wait for a while and read more about it before start tuning.

Thanks for your info,
I noticed power loss a lot of times but I didn't know why, I don't get the torque kick when driving in hot weather, I thought maybe the A/C compressor is affecting the performance.

I guess then I have to garage the car until the winter come

AC compressors on new cars do not affect performance so much
there are good filters you can use that goes inside factory airbox! I have a spare K&N you can have it
