only thing that would not bother me with what you said are the paint chips. I already have about 6 on my hood and only 1500 miles on her. Rest of it sounds like issues.......issues that I would attempt to avoid.

I'll sell you a 2008 GSR for close to that, with wheels and aero mods too

Im in san Antonio tx. I bought my car earlier this year for cheaper than that and my car is in way better condition. Taken care of and stock. Bought for 20k + TTL. Car had 28k miles. You just gotta be patient and shop around. I looked for months for a good deal.

Wow. That is a good deal. It is very difficult to find Evo's in or around our area for that price. What dealership?

If I couldn't find a better Evo for the price Id buy it. Sure the new car needs a couple things but so does your old car. Wouldn't you prefer to fix the parts on a new car you like and not the same old shat box.

I didn't get it guys. I couldn't help thinking about losing money from doing a trade in on my genesis. And I'm surprised at how low my trade-in value would be. I'm at 43k miles and I really haven't done any major repairs on the genesis.

They don't even have it listed on autotrader.com anymore as well.

And "A Furr" ... 20k for 28k miles .. man that's a good deal. I can't believe how low the mileage is for only 20k.

Have you contacted Don Herring? See how much they would give you on your trade or how much they would sell an Evo for or what kind of interest rate they can get you? It's all a numbers game. Sure you might get screwed in your trade. But you might get a lower interest rate and make up alot of that. Also don't forget that when you trade a car in, you do not pay taxes on that value on the new car. Meaning if you get $20k on your trade, and the new car is $35k, then you are only paying taxes on $15k. Also if you have any gap insurance or 3rd party coverage, you get that money back prorated.

Contact Jason Johnson at Don Herring Plano. See what he can do for you.

Good thing about them is it doesnt matter if you go to any of the 3. You can get whatever Evo you want between the 3 of them. Nice selection to choose from.

Thats why I was surprised they didn't have the color and options that you wanted

They have a SE for $30k. Could probably get them down even more on the price. They probably bought the car for $25-$26k

Yeah, it was that strange period in mid-2010 they were practically sold out of Evos. About a month after I bought they were resupplied and once again had like 30 of them on the lot! A few came in the day I bought my car, but all the WW ones were either base GSR's or MR's.

Which SE? I probably know who's it was and can provide some history on it.
*edit*
The only used Evo on their website currently is a WW '12 X MR.

You have to search under the regular lancer. Not sure why they listed it there but they do from time to time.

By chance do you know anyone who bought a 2012 base model AS with about 8k miles on it from the Plano location?

I see the SE now, they have a few Evos under Lancer for whatever reason...and yes I know who's that was He traded it in for a new 2013 X MR. Good guy, him and his wife always took care of it and maintained it properly.

Regarding the AS, doesn't ring a bell.

Idle rev with ac on is normal. Stock shifter sucks if u change to a short shifter will help with the 18 wheeler feel. Paint chips is normal on evo cuz paint sucks and at 52k miles would be normal.I would make the dealership fix radio install new brake pads.
