I bought my 08 for 23.5k with 43k miles but it had zero problems and was in perfect running condition. Clutch went out in a month though, if you buy it get it maintained and fix all the issues and enjoy it stock for awhile

Its kind of a long story, so Ill try to make it short.
Saw this car listed on cargurus and it didn't have a picture and hadly any info. Just 2010 lancer evolution. Had the miles, manual transmission, silver and a price of $19,999. Thought it was a scam so my girlfriend and I went to go check it out. It was late at night and we walked the lot. It was parked in the back all dirty and not show room ready. Came back the next day and the salesperson and manager didn't even know they had it. We talked and the manager said one of the sales guys didn't know what kind of car it was and priced it too low. He honored the price but said if we don't take it then and there he would raise the price to what it should've been. Ended up buying it and waited 4 hours for them to clean it in and out. Our sales women had no idea what kind of car it was and why the techs in the back were going crazy about it lol funniest part of all is it was at world car mazda/kia

Wow, thats a pretty good story. I wonder who the idiot was who priced it? Sometimes its just shear luck. But congrats, that was an awesome price for our area. Evo's are way overpriced (at dealership) here in SA

Uh oh, I'm at 59k miles now, hopefully my car doesn't magically fall apart in 1k miles (while I'm on a cross-country roadtrip no less)

It's called maintenance people; take care of your car and it will take care of you in return. I performed all the 60k maintenance last week and I'm no less confident in the reliability and durability of the car now than I was 3 years ago when it rolled off the lot for the first time.

I've always had the most confidence in Mitsu's drivetrain. They make a solid engine and tranny. It's everything else they make cheaply and starts going out. Some of those things have no maintenance to do. But I 100% agree. Take care of your car and it will keep on rolling. You just might not have power windows, power locks, adjustable headlights, AC. Stuff like that.

My Eclipse is at about 37k miles and going on 6 years old. The car runs great. But God have the other stuff been a freakin headache.

werd. Properly maintained and you have another 60k left in that motor, easy.

My 08 GSR has 62k miles on it, haven't had a single engine issue, not even a leak.

I have good, conservative tune on it, and I track all my maintenance. I only do oil changes/coolant myself. I've seen so many botched transoil/diff fluid changes on forums that I decided it's not worth the $100 I'd save. I let the dealer do it.

Be careful purchasing used sports car. Your guts is as good as it gets. If you are having doubts, LISTEN.
