Get the cloth for now, and order a kit from leatherseats.com You could get the leather in any configuration you want (contrast stitching, two tone, perforated, color, etc)

Only downside is you have to do it yourself. Here's a review: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ved-today.html

I love the leather seats and extra sound dampening that comes with SL package. I could do without the sunroof however. I've always been more of a fan of no roof at all versus a hole in the roof

It would have been awesome to have a convertible Evo option like they use to have the VR-4 Spyder. Those cars still go for very high prices to.

Lets be honest... are either of you tracking your car more than 5 times a year? Have you removed your heavy oem exhaust? Have you removed ur heavy bumper beams? True carbon fiber products? Are you under 200 lbs??? just curious, if weight was that much of a concern I think a 4g63 evo better suits you both.

The leather recaro in my car wears way better than that. You need a special to get into the seats though, with out hitting the bolsters. It still looks very new, in fact.

Now that I look at them they do look heavy. The seats that come in the GSR still look great though in my opinion, plus you can always sell them to the subie guys.

I think leather is over rated, I have the cloth recaro in my 9, 7 years and they still look excellent, ive seem some leather seats in horrible condition after a year, but it's all on your preference

I have no experience with leather in an Evo but have had (and still have) vehicles with leather and heated/cooled is almost a must

I got leather because I was more concerned about my fatness sliding into the seat and pulling on the cloth a few 1000 times and ripping it. Dont think i will have that problem with leather. just my $.2

i didn't want leather because i'm to lazy to clean/condition them every few months, and once they start cracking, they look ugly.

3 years on my cloth recaros and they still look like the day i got them.

plus i hate when its cold out, leather is cold, and when its 115, the seats are ****ing hot.

looks wise for sure the leather > cloth tho

I vote for leather. I think for a car in this price range, leather just adds a nice touch to it. Even though we're getting into summer now and leather seats are not always fun to sit on when your car has been parked in the sun, the heated seats were very welcomed on the cold winter days.

My car didn't come with Recaros, so I bought a pair used from a GSR and sent them to the shop to be done up in leather. Hopefully I'll have them back and installed by next weekend. A number of friends said just put them in as cloth, but I knew I wouldn't be satisfied if I didn't go all the way. To each his/her own, though.
