30k service?

i'm planning to do my 30k service early as i've had the car 3 years already and barely hit 22k.

i got quoted from sam @ scm 459.99 for the 30k service + 259.99 for the driveline service. what is the driveline service? is there a set interval to do that also?

I'm pretty sure that's tranny, transfer case and rear diff fluid change.

what can you do? Do the service at a local shop instead of the dealer.
Seems to be a no brainer to me. I only change oil at the dealer, not the other routine stuff like rotating tires.

You might be able to source some of the parts/fluids for cheaper.

I think I paid a little less than that, but was quoted like $800+ from a dealer.

That sounds about right from the dealer, but you can do all the fluid changes yourself honestly. The only thing I plan on having someone else do is to change out the belts. Everything else is drain and fill, t-case, diff, trans, antifreeze.

I don't think it's BOTH, it's either or. I think the 30k service includes the driveline service (though that can obviously be done on its own).

The tcase, rear diff are pretty simple drain and fills, you're not bleeding the acd so its not a big deal. The trans is easy as well. I picked up a can of diaqueen for diff and tcase for about 70 bucks from fred beans mitsu. Trans fluid is up to you, may people run the redline cocktail, some run oem, some run amsoil, many different options there.

I just did my flushed all my stuff out last weekend. I bought everything off of Fred Beans for $324 shipped (two gallons of tranny and 4 liters of LSD) I would recommend getting a reusable transmission filter that way you won't have to cough up an extra $150 every time you do an tranny flush. It is very simple as long as you have all the tools. I learned the hard way so it took me 3 hours to do everything lol.
