You're right, it does look like it was built to be removed easier, and if the source is trustworthy then I would be comfortable using the advice. Thanks.

On the chance that this problem with my new fuel pump not priming and the car not starting is not related to the battery, do you have any other ideas of where I can troubleshoot.

I was told that I should disconnect the injector harnesses and turn the key to the ON position and I should hear the fuel pump working. The member who suggested this did not mention if that would help me get the car started or if the fact that the pump primes when the injector harness is disconnected means I have another issue at hand.

If you look at it, it looks designed to be pulled up with ease. So I think the information is legit.

Also when you pull up the yellow tab, you dont full it completely off the fuse board. So don't pull it real hard. It just lifts enough to pull the fuse out of the connections.

I guess I would check the battery first. It really does sound like the starter isn't getting enough juice. But if the battery is good, then maybe do what that person told you. This will atleast let you know that the fuel pump is working?

I wanted to post an update on my situation and offering special thanks to momostallion and Kendogg. I went home Friday afternoon and decided to check to see if my battery was too weak to start my car. I do not have my voltmeter and I did not want to take my battery to AutoZone and wait around to see if they could test my battery because I was leaving for a trip Friday afternoon. So, I tried to jump the car. The car started on the first try while jumping it and after I drove the Evo around town and on the highway for about 30 minutes, it starts without any issues.

Thank you momostallion and Kendogg, it was the battery after all which is too bad since the car has less than 33K miles on it. I will pull the yellow relay, per your instructions Kendogg, in the future to see if that helps maintain the longevity of the battery in the Evo.

glad you got it sorted.

ya batteries don't really follow a mileage schedule, rather charge cycles/condition of cells.
i would look into a battery tender for future storage, it will prolong the life of your battery. i have one on my bike and race car.

Glad it worked out and was something simple. A battery can go bad around that mileage. Especially if it isn't driven regularly. We drive our Eclipse regularly and my battery went bad around 30k miles.
