I had a failed spark plug at 4k

 

Do you know what caused it? What did you ended up doing? If you did an engine build can you pm me how much was the cost total? Thanks.

 

I made it 12K without any problems so far.... Do you guys really change plugs every 10K though? Car seems to be running fine and after hearing about failures it makes me not want to mess with it.

Changed plugs multiple times on my IX without any problems. You guys are making me nervous on the X.

 

I change mine about once per year, or more often if the car sits on the rev-limiter for an extended period since that is what's causing the failures in my experience.

 

For those regularly changing your plugs are you getting them from mitsubishi or straight from ngk?

 

I vary between my local dealer (Don Herring Mitsu) and MAP depending on which is more convenient at the time since they're about the same price either way (~$50-55). The plugs are identical when compared side-by-side.
