Dual Gauge Pods on the steering column

Been looking through the threads and seems that all dual gauge pods that mount on the steering column block park of the speedometer and tach. I use mine as a DD and prefer they don't.

I don't want to mount on the pillar either. I do like the Perrin dual pod but just don't know if I can deal with it blocking the lower speed and part of the tach. Any recommendations for one that won't block and still mounts on the steering column?

Looking to get a boost and A/F gauge done.

thanks

It only blocks up to 25 or so and the left only block 1000rpm and 8000 on in mine. As far as money goes te perrin piece is nice

The ATI e-pod has some adjustability rather than a fixed position..I used it in my race car to have a full view of the tach by moving the boost gauge to the left....

I used the autometer 52mm gauge cups and mounted them on the top "corners" of the steering column so it barely blocks my tach and speedo

Have you ever made something for the steering column that doesn't block the view of the tach and speedometer? I'd be interested in something like that. I don't really want to lose my vents, and the options for putting them on the dash just look tacky and of place to me...

I have the same problem. I got my car with the gauges right in front of the speedometer and tach. Bad for school zones lol.
Will be relocating them to the corner tho.

I was all set to post "dude, this is an Evo site, not a Scooby site; what's the deal with the giant gauge pod over the radio?" but then I noticed that it was Ken, who bought me a beer when he didn't really have to, so I decided to move on without hitting "Post Quick Reply."

oops

It's all good, and I agree, it looks very Subie. But I felt the same as the OP. I didn't really want the steering wheel column mount and I wasn't a fan of the A pillar mount. I really wanted a LCD screen unit like the Greddy Informeter but the overall pricing for the unit and needed sensors was just too expensive.

So I went with this ATI pod. It does remind me of the subie gauges but it was an excellent alternative.

I used these in conjunction with AEM gauges. They were cheap off amazon and they work perfectly.

How are they mounted to your steering wheel column? They're screwed into it?

They are mounted with 3m double sided moulding tape. This stuff is strong and not like the regular doublesided tape. They arent going anywhere.

Also I should mention, my picture taking skills lack talent to say the least. The gauges are are perfectly centered on the steering column, I just took a crooked picture. Will try to get a better one.
