Service engine soon light ==> limp mode ==> then was normal

Anyone go wot, then the evo just goes into limp mode. I tuned off the car for a few hours, then the code dissappeared? I don't remember clearing it but I did try to pull the code and got an error,

The tune is about a year old, basic bolt on, stock turbo, stock injectors 93 octane, no rear o2. It hit 27.9 psi and it was about 105 on the outside temperature guage. I'm afraid to go back into boost until I figure this out, help.

I had this problem one time after I got my car tuned. Might not be the same issue but my MAF was exceeding the flow and put the car in limp mode until I turned the car off. I put on an MBC and got it tuned again and my boost doesn't get above 26psi now and my car is fine. Haven't happen again since the new tune and MBC was added.

So like a grimmspeed 3 port? So did the service engine soon light come on and disappear for you too? It would make since if I max my maf since I'm on the stock housing

Grimmspeed 3 port is ok. I used a Hallman MBC. Yes, my service engine light would blink and then my car would go into limp mode. Sometimes the CEL would come on and then it would stay on until I drive my car a few times and then it would go off. But the limp mode would always go away after a restart. Does your ASC ever cut off when you go into limp mode?

I'll double check the fuel pump relay again, but I think it was over boost. I pulled the failsafe wideband log and the afr was in the normal range .

So it only has happened once? It will not hurt your car to go into limp mode like that, it actually means your car is doing what it is supposed to do to protect the engine. I would try to make it happen again but you don't have to, and if it does it again, then you know for sure it is an over boost problem. 27.9psi is pretty high.

A it did it again, this time I have logs, I got a know sum of 3 when I hit about 20 psi, then it went to 27.7 psi, and then limp mode..... Afrs look normal. It happened on the second pull. The first pull was okay to to 27 psi. Partial boost runs fine. The only solution I got now is to skip the wot
