I just had the same problem and it turned out to be the boot that was open. I checked and basically lifted it and closes it and problem solved.

​​​​Ok, i just bought used outlander 4wd, i saw this down arrow, it looks like car wants me to press some kind of button, ini tried AWD button, eco button, nothing worked. It scared the **** out of me, did i just bought a defective car, and i ended up here, now i feel relaxed, Alot of people are having same issue, lol.
Thanks guys, you just gave me another life.

It is the info button. Near the instrument cluster, you should see a black button that says "INFO". In the picture it is on because the door is open.

But it shouldn't just come on randomly while driving. In the Evo, when you open the door, it should alert you that a door is open. But then that arrow indicates that you can hold the info button and it allows you go click through and see the rest of the info in the display.

I figured it out

Relax guys, its nothing but a notification.
​​so, while using maps, at turns, this arrow lights up, if arrow is thick then press info for 5 Seconds, if arrow is hollow then just press info to scroll and get to notification screen.
nothing serious, but a fancy notification.
