Question AEM Boost gauge "---" help!?!?!

Hey EvoM,

So awhile back i picked up an AEM Digital boost gauge and it shows "---". It did work once during the install but after I finished the install it showed "---" ever since. I've gone back and redone all the wiring and still does it.

Should I just pick up a new AEM Digital and swap out the sensor and then return it? Reason why i'd just replace the sensor is because i had to cut and extend the wires to reach my pods.

Or should i grab something new. Maybe Innovate MTX-D or any suggestions?

I would call AEM, being that you cut the wires you may be out of luck.

Two possibilities come immediately to mind:

you crossed or shorted the wires while adding your extension

you used wire that was too thin, such that the total resistance is now too high

Well i did contact MAPerformance which was where i purchased my gauge. They redirected me to AEM and said that they'll contact me and never did.. This was back in June. But anyways like i kinda said should i stick with the AEM or move on to another brand?

I'm sure i didn't cross the wires even if i did i went back and redid it the second time. Everything is color coordinated. You may be right about the wire being shorted and also about the wire being to thin. Is there a way to tell if it's too thin?

EDIT: Oh i forgot to mention i have a AEM wide band hooked up and it works perfectly....
