Warranty

No engine mods, just a rear bar.

CNA treats Evo's just regular Lancers in terms of their rates. And they've accepted just about everywhere.

I don't always trust aftermarket warranties....insurance companies always seem to find a way to get out of paying for things. You're better off saving the money in a separate account and paying for the repairs on your own... (for instance, engine would only be covered if you save all receipts and keep log books of oil changes every 3K if you do it yourself)

I disagree, 96% with that statement. Why not 100%? Because I've seen the figures from some of the aftermarket warranty companies. Their profit margin is only like 4%. Nearly all of CNA's customers end up using their warranty. And over 50% end up getting more out of it than they spebt buying it. This is especially true if you pay a regular lancer rate to warranty your Evo.

I've seen a few really ****ty warrantied out there. And yes, there are some companies that **** people over. But your generalization is unwarranted, and inacurate.

Simply put, if insurance companies paid out on all claims, they would be out of business. They are in the business of making money. It's legalized gambling. You are betting that you will have a failure they will cover, they are betting that you won't...and if you do, you need to have a LOT of proof that you followed all of their guidelines. They are the only industry throughout time to consistntly increase profits...every single year.

Insurance is not the same thing as a warranty. In principal they are similar. Pay X to potentially protect you from paying Y. If Y > X, you win. But you're forgetting something funamentally different. They are optional (#thanksobama), health care isn't. Because its optional they still have to offer the product at a price people will buy it at. Cars come with warranties to start with, and can be replaced. People don't and can't. Plus, i know eventually something will go wrong with my car. I haven't been to a doctor in 4 years. I have a lot more control over my health and well being than I do my car's.
