343/346 EvoX MR/ New Tune/ Problem
I don't think that I was actually hitting 30psi boost, but rather I was hitting the volt safety on the map. 30psi would be around 5v, anything over 4.56 will cause the ASC cel. When that happens, the clutches disengage, which is why It felt like they were slipping. My tuner left boost protection on as well. He didn't raise the limits on the sensor voltage at the time and is going to raise it to 4.85 as the max. My normal boost is 24-25psi that tapers down to 20 with 28 as the max. Below is a post which describes the issue that I am having.

Hi Guys,
Problem: When you run the stock 3bar sensor as soon as you hit 30psi the ASC system turns off, and if you have an SST the clutches will open up.
This sucks for SST people - obviously But it is also a PITA for guys that like to have the ASC system working.
Theory: I think I have found a piece of code that basically checks the MAP sensor and as soon as it goes over 4.56volts will stop sending torque information from the Engine-ECU to the ASC-ECU and TC-SST-ECU.
Fix: Add the following XML to your .xml file and then make the change.
Please ensure the current value matches 0x00E9 BEFORE changing and flashing to the car
526800xx, 526900xx, 53040007, 53040010, 54070007, 53050009, 52370024
Code:
<table name="ASC OFF, SST OFF Fix 0x00E9 -> 0x0100" category="Misc" address="53b0a" type="1D" scaling="Hex16"/>
55590007, 55570006, 55580006, 53040013
Code:
<table name="ASC OFF, SST OFF Fix 0x00E9 -> 0x0100" category="Misc" address="53b10" type="1D" scaling="Hex16"/>
This locations probably work for other ROMID's, so please report back if they work and I will add the ROMID to the list!
Cheers

Good to hear you figured it out! That would be horrible to just barely get a tune with mods, and have clutches slipping on a new 2013 Evo.
Was getting weary of putting mods my MR, but I think I am still going to pull the trigger.

Just got off the phone with Sean Ivey. He told me that if the clutch is slipping, which I think it is, a tune wouldn't be able to fix it. I believe that I am overboosting as well. I get a message saying that the ASC is disabled when pushing the car and the only way that I have gotten it to go away is by restarting. Above 30psi on the SST, this happens apparently to protect the car. I assume a proper tune would fix my issues, since it was a tune that caused them. Going from 250wtq to 353 may have been too much of a hike. I'm getting a bit worried.
I was/am but Ivey told me personally that he doesn't tune SST tables and just sticks to tuning the engine. I understand that he tunes GT-R's, but in my honest opinion, I think that you have to tune the SST as well as the engine in order to "properly" tune an EvoX MR.
hmm. this concerns me
i just got my tune and pushing little 314/323. and im eyeing 350hp 350tq on my SE too (SST).
Matt at TFP tunes on a PSI base... and honestly this car feels amazing after that tune. the 4th gear is the killer. and im only really on an Intake and a Test Pipe. thats it. with the GS 3port pushing 25psi. one of the limiting factors for me is the stock exhaust tho. the ETS test pipe is Great, but the rest is giving me backpressure and well the timings wont go any higher than what i got. i dont have any flutter or surge or compression issues or anything of that sort, and the car is real healthy and runs amazing.
i still need my catback, downpipe, and fuel pump and i shuld be into the 340 range. i dont want to boost past 28 tho.
but what has been said, about tuning the SST ecu along with the engine is something i want to look into as well. i was telling him about this because ive read an article with the EVO X vs Porsche (i forgot if boxter or 911) concerning the SST tranny. same tranny, xcept the porsche is definitely more refined. but the evos SST should be able to be tuned to be much more aggressive, it will end up being jerky on the street but thats the compromise for a faster more responsive (than what it is) and refined SST. the power would def be put down Much quicker and feel alot smoother on throttle.
but this issue does concern me if i do reach my 350hp/360tq goal.

The 7spd Porsche Dual Clutch PDK (ZF 7DT-45) is made by ZF Friedrichshafen AG
The 6spd Mitsubishi Dual Clutch SST (Getrag powershift 6DCT470) is made by Getrag with a Continental TCU
They are totally different designs by totally different companies.
I also believe that tuning without touching the SST is just plain wrong in 2013....
More power needs more clutch pressure to fully utilize the capability of the stock clutches. Otherwise you'll slip a perfectly fine clutch that just isn't being engaged hard enough.
My 2 cents says find a tuner who tunes the whole car as a package. Not just the engine.

Just got tuned by Sean Ivey yesterday. My car is running beautifully. Sean really takes the time and tunes your car to perfection. He did 20 pulls on the Dyno, fine tuning and tweaking it more and more each time. I was running so lean that he had to stop the first pull. My air to fuel ratio was something like 13::1 and Sean brought to 11::5 . My boost was also turned up way too much and was spiking and throwing that ASC cel. Ivey really knows his stuff.
Edit: The first picture is the IveyTune, The middle picture is the last tune by JR after the DP,HFC,TS BOV, Injector, and FP install, the third picture was the first tune by JR, which happened to be a great tune.
For some reason the pictures won't upload to EvolutionM, however, I have the same post on EvoxForums, so here is a link to that post.
