2013 Evo help regarding Dash panel
2013 Evo help regarding Dash panel PICTURES UP!!
I bought a 2013 evo around May this year. As I've been driving it, I noticed the dash panel that's over the radio and passenger side airbag is very wavy and the edges seem to look like if the panel itself was "wrapped".
They ordered twice the part and they came in with the same defect and warped.
The dealer said all 2013's have this so the rep doesn't want to tear apart the car (which is good in a way as I don't trust any mechanic and they always break something anyways)
I need any of YOU with a 2013 to post pictures of their dash and if any of you have it perfect let me know. I will post pictures later of what I'm referring to.
I also noticed other 13's with the defect and not one without it except the 14's and it looks cheap as hell when we pay $40k. What should I do?
Any input is appreciated thanks guys

HERE IS THE OTHER SIDE ITS PERFECT!!

Try mumbling "Lemon Law" under your breath next time you visit. Another reason that the Regional Rep might not want to work on the car a third time is, if it fails and you can argue that the defect causes a substantial decrease in value, then you can get your money back or a new car.
I'm assuming that you bought it in Florida.
If it bugs you, then get it fixed. Staring at a defective dash when driving a new car might really reduce your enjoyment. On the other hand, if you're less **** than I am (which almost goes without saying), then move on with life or make a deal with them, such as three free oil changes.

I took it to Mitsubishi, they looked at it, rep went and looked at a 2014. It was perfect. Then we look at the 2013's and they all have it. So he went and ordered a piece.
I showed up once the piece arrived. They said it looked the same so they didn't want to touch the car because there was no point. They ordered another one.
I showed up again and this time I had the slave cylinder recall done and to replace the panel. I get a call a little while ago saying the rep decided not to replace because all the 13's come with the problem/not a problem.
So the issue has been addressed but they haven't touched the car so I have no RO to even show.
Yes I bought in Florida. Thanks man ill see what happens.
My 13 is this way, it developed over time. I don't think it's a defective part issue as much as it's an issue of exposure. 14s are new, 13s had been hit with a year's worth of direct sunlight and hot/cold cycles. I'm sure 14s will look the same way a year from now. Chalked it up to basic wear and tear. A bit of good news is that mine seems to have settled or stopped warping any further. Use a windshield reflector year round!
I just noticed you're in S Florida. It's the heat, man! Leave it be, any replacement will warp again.

If you look closely to the edges you'll also see that it looks like its "peeling"

Interesting. My dash definitely wasn't warped when I bought it. I remember noticing it over the summer, after 6 or so months over ownership. I'll post pics when I get the chance. Mine looks just like yours does.
You can't lemon a car if that's the way it was made, lol. It's an Evo. They're known for their performance and superior handling. I you bought an Evo for its fit and finish you bought the wrong car! I just looked at the two 2014 Lancer's I have sitting on my showfloor. Neither one of them has a perfectly flush and flat dash around the edges of the trim piece.
The OEM tires are loud as ****, the car has all kind of rattles, it's dash is cheap feeling plastics.

Talking about the evo in itself is different than a business transaction where someone pays for an evo because now $$ is involved and well everyone wants to make the best deal they can.
Cheap interior is not defective interior.
My 2012 has the same issue. Its a result of the cheap plastic. Mine did it off the lot but not enough to bother me.
It's an Evo. Not a M3. I do live in hot Texas but it is my understanding that my car sat on the lot for only a few weeks

Hot weather/sun does that to it. It does it to many other vehicles and it looks cheap but evo isnt a vehicle designed to look absolutely gorgeous inside anyways. You can make it look beautiful though. I plan on getting the entire completely redone with suede (e-suede once I hear some contact info).
