Doesn't go into gear smooth

Got a 2012 gsr with 6k miles on it. First manual car that is mine. Driven friends si in the past and such. Well when I shift into the gears it doesn't seem to go in smoothly. I drove my friends civic si 9th gen and it seems to go in much more smoothly than on my car. Is something wrong, or is this something that is common with evos?

Or is this due to driver error?

it's normal, the transmission is VERY notchy until the transmission fluid gets hot and i mean one hour worth of shifting hot, then it becomes surprisngly smooth.

otherwise, expect to be notchy and maybe even grind if you try to shift fast.

to give you an example, brand new 2013 here, and when the fluid's cold i cant shift normally from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd, i have to shift slowly and pause at neutral or double clutch to make it go in smooth.
