$1200? Damn most I ever payed to ship a car from NYC to Houston tx has been 750 and I shipped like 4-5 cars. The cheapest has been $500. They ran late a few days but the car got there fine. Just needed a wash. I can't remember they name if it saved my life. Sorry OP, I'll try and look for the receipt.

Maybe check the weather forecast far enough in advance then plan a trip out to drive it back. Waaaay cheaper. So long as you don't hit a storm and wreck the car. Then it's definitely more expensive.

You can also ship by train also. Can be cheaper but take longer.

I used DAS and dropped my Evo off on 12/16. The car was supposed to arrive in San Diego on 1/3. They didn't load my car onto the truck until yesterday (1/14). Furthermore, they notified me today that they caused damage to the left front of my vehicle. Since the car will have diminished value after it's fixed, can I refuse to accept the car with them taking the car and giving me the full value of the Evo before the damage?

REALLY!?? You went with DAS after the posted horror stories?

I feel for you....They are a month late and caused damage!!?? I would be pissed as I'm sure you are.

I would demand they take pictures of your evo from ALL ANGLES to show you the damage they caused and to check on the condition of the rest of the vehicle.

Did you take pictures of your evo when you dropped it off to them?

GL getting them to agree with your terms....I assume you questioned them about the process for delivery of a damaged vehicle when it was dropped off to them undamaged?

Sorry to hear this!

I used these guys to ship my S2000 from Minnesota to Mississippi when I sold it and we had no complaints regarding the transit time, price, condition of the car when it arrived, etc.

Funny enough, their main office is only a few blocks from my house now that I've moved to Texas But yeah, good company to work with, zero complaints, and I'd definitely use them again. BBB A+ rating too.

Nah, I didn't take pictures when I dropped the car off but they told me to take pictures when I get it. The guy that looked over my car when I dropped it off didn't write that there was anything wrong with the car in the paperwork. I went with DAS because they said they also ship cars for the largest Mitsu dealer in the US.

He's going west, which will make it harder to check the forecast and the radar. If he was going east, at least he could move away from the storm.

Maybe I'm just **** - but I will only use Intercity for my future shipping needs. I turned down 3 different companies that I had scheduled pickups with because I didn't trust the drivers to take care of my car. You get what you pay for... sometimes it's worth a few extra hundred bucks in my book.

don't do it man, if it is at all possible that you can drive it yourself or trailer it to cali, do it yourself, when i got mine brand new, shipped from a dealer in texas to maryland, showed up with scratches, pissed me off, brand new car, plus the car gets transferred from proabably an 18 wheeler to a flat bed, to who knows what else, to many hands on the vehicle and most could care less about being careful with it, it's not theirs and those drivers are only worried about getting paid, just my advice

I've used Reliable Carriers to ship my Evo and C63 AMG from WA to MI in an enclosed trailer. Very professional people and drivers. They ship high end and classic cars so they know how to take care of your vehicles.
I've moved a few times during my military career. The last thing you need in the middle of a move is worrying about your pride and joy, much less the hassle of filing a claim. Do it right, and pay a little more for peace of mind.

I finally got the Evo last Thursday (1/23) after over a month of dropping the car off. There was damage to the front bumper, grill, parts of the black piece below the aero lip is falling off and one of the round orange light bulb by the HID headlight doesn't turn on. They gave me a claim.
