First Oil change and transmission grind
I have a 2014 GSR with 1,200 miles on it and I've noticed the shifter has a stiff feel to it, but I've never had a problem getting it into gear. Every once in a while it doesn't like to go into reverse after startup but I just play with it a little (go first gear, blip gas, then reverse) and it's fine.
I actually kind of like the "mechanical" feel of the shift lever. A little different than other manuals I've driven, but it feels sturdy and more rigid. Makes it feel a little more like a high end sports car with slotted gear box.
As far as the oil change is concerned, I plan on changing my oil at 2,500 miles and going to full synthetic from dealership. Probably won't do the other fluids until 15,000 miles or if mechanics notice anything.
