What do you evo owners think about Aftermarket MAF when putting a new intake

I'm an Evo owner and this idea never occurred to me before you brought it up. I've always thought that you either run the OE MAF or you switch to speed-density. Or, I guess, maybe, you could get something that can used in blow-through, but that isn't really the same thing as replacing the MAF, is it? In fact, I did not even know that anyone makes a replacement MAF for our cars. (Note: I still don't know that anyone does, since your post is not enough to make me believe it.)

Are we talking something along the lines of this?

I have one (I over torqued my intake coupling fastener and kinda broke my original OE MAF), my tuner prefers the OE MAF, it is quicker and easier to tune, so I got a new OE adapter.

From what I've read, only the big HP cars really benefit from something like this.

Of course there are intakes like AMS that replace the MAF housing as part of their intake, which is fine, you just need to get a tune when you install it.

Slow down. Changing the tube into which the MAF sticks is different from changing the MAF, itself. But once we include changing the tube, there are two main options: same size as OE (and not needing rescaling) or larger than OE (and, therefore, needing rescaling). The object linked to in Post #3 is an over-size tube.

I suppose one might vaguely consider going to a smaller tube and, therefore, also need rescaling. I can't see anyone actually doing this - not even someone who races under rules that require intake restrictors - but I'll throw it in for completeness' sake.
