Evo X Diagnostic Code C2001
Evo X Diagnostic Code C2001
Help. What does this mean?
Diagnostic Code C2001
ABS and ASC lights remain on.
Abnormality in wheel fluid pressure sensor output signal.

Is this code being thrown a few seconds after you start the car, before you move and/or touch the brake pedal?
edit: maybe I shouldn't assume that you're really in the Caribbean ... are you? because this code can be thrown when the ABS unit is too cold

the lights come on before you move or touch the brake pedal.
I am in the caribbean so cold is not an issue.
Car was parked up for about two weeks and the battery died.
I installed a new battery and on start up this issue started

Hm. That's not good. That code is often thrown by a bad ASC-ECU or a dead ABS pump. Hopefully, it's just the sensor. I'd disconnect the battery again, wait a few minutes, and try again. Then it's time to read the step-by-step diagnosing procedure for that code. It's in here: http://www.evoscan.com/manuals/EvoX/...003700-35C.pdf
Using the Launch X431, we still got the C2001 code. The ABS on each wheel was pulsed and responded properly. Would it be safe to assume that the ABS pump is working and that the problem is pointing to the ASC-ECU?
I would not make that assumption. Let me try to explain.
When acting as a simple ABS unit, all that the unit does is drop pressure to one or more wheels. It does not add pressure, so the pump and stored pressure in the unit isn't needed.
The pump and pressure in the ABS unit is used when the ASC applies the brake to one or two wheels.
Thus, a dead pump can throw codes that mention ABS while not preventing the plain ABS from working. Therefore, your symptoms match both a dead pump and a bad ECU.
If you can swap ECUs with someone, that would be great. If you can power the unit while listening carefully to hear if the pump seems to be working, that would be good, too.

Good luck. And just to be 100% clear, I'm talking about the pump inside the ABS unit under the hood, not the pump that powers the ACD and AYC, which is in the right rear quarter.
