Evo MPG
Mpg on my 08 MR was about 16.
It was terrible.
Haven't figured mpg on my current GSR but instead of filling up every 5-6 days I'm filling up every 8-9 days withy the same daily route.
So it's gotta be a bit better.
Miss the mr's interior though.

This doesn't make any sense to me but I guess the turbo complicates things a bit:
Cruise control set at 75mph, drove 157.4 miles and then filled up 7.4 gallons
= 21.27 mpg (the display said 24.2mpg average so obviously that is not accurate at all)
Cruise control set at 82mph, drove 244 miles, filled up 10.87 gallons
= 22.44mpg (display said 22.9mpg which is closer but still a little off)

My 2011 stock GSR DD gets around 15.5-16 city and i've only gone on one short hgwy trip and it wasn't much better, I got to about 18-18.5... Either way, worth it haha. Im hoping with I get my Cobb access port and tune it i can crack into the 20's..
My '03 EVO 8 got around 23 mpg in Boston Metro West suburbs.
When I moved to metro DC (Xtal City), that dropped to about 11 mpg, due to most of my commute spent sitting at mismanaged traffic lights.
(Worse, it collects traffic into clumps, so you wind up behind a herd of cell phone zombies who think they're still driving a carb'd '42 DeSoto, and have to idle up to speed.)
In that same horrible environment, the HUD on my EVO X is telling me I'm getting about 9 mpg (averaged).
But I spend more time sitting in gridlock than driving.

I thought the best fuel economy was not at low rpms but at the point where the Torque curve crosses the HP curve, otherwise you are wasting all that torque.
My MR case (always calculated at the fuel station starting from full tank and with full refuel after testing):
-normal conditions (city, highway, pulls) not beating the car too much: 17-18 mpg
-economy cruise (70mph, 15.5 afr) no pulls, using cruise control: 27 mpg

I drive both a Prius and a modified Evo X. With conservative driving and on the same stretch if my work route, I get 25mpg from the Evo and 51mpg from the prius. They both are as different as night and day and they should be. The Prius is a technological marvel , whose technology is being copied by every other automaker, so I think Prius bashing is not really justified.
^ I agree w/ the Prius' virtues. It was one of the best automobiles I'd owned, looking back. I averaged 42 mpg mixed on regular gas and found it enjoyable at times with it's form of performance (and it was responsive!), overall design aesthetics, hi tech features (a.k.a Evo X MR), quiet serenity and it's economy to boot. It's one of the best automotive design executions ever...
And, my 14 MR stock is returning about 19 mpg... mixed... w/ or w/o A/C or the manner of my driving... all stock but a cat back.
