First, I have to ask: why the heck do you drive to work if it's only three blocks. Did the ozone layer steal your girlfriend in high-school?

As to wheels for snows, a lot of folks use the OE wheels for their OE-size snows when they get 18x9.5s for their summer 265s or 275s. If you go with 225/45s for your snows, instead, which works better in many cases, then it's better to drop back to 18x8 or even 18x7.5, but those are usually cheaper than 18x8.5, anyway.

I'm on the fence here... I'll be picking up my new '14 GSR SSL (is that the right acronym for the Sunroof/Leather pkg?) in Phantom Black this coming Sunday, and I'm moist in anticipation.

I live in the northern VA area, and it's still averaging in the 30's for high temps during the day here. I was hoping I could get away with the stock Advans for now so I have the time to shop for new wheels and summer tires in the next couple months. Then I do plan on putting winter tires on the OE wheels for next winter.

I'm just hoping it warms up soon and into late February... the extended forecast (although who ever trusts that...) says that it will be in the mid-to-high 40's starting next week. I may just wait and drive with extra caution until it gets warmer. If it snows, well, I just won't drive it and I'll use my current vehicle.

You will be fine just don't drive it in the snow.

As far as the abbreviations it used to be SSS for Sight Spoiler Sound but since the spoiler is standard now it is just SS. I guess the Sunroof and Leather would just be SL.

Congrats on the purchases I got mine 2 weeks ago, same options but White. You will be moist for a while. I just got moist thinking about mine at home in the garage. I don't daily mine.

Better to be moist in anticipation than moist from the human tendency to open bowel sphincters in fear.

Just sayin'.

I can't effing wait. I've been saving for a couple years and thinking about buying one for many more. The only way I've been able to satiate myself was driving one in Gran Turismo on PS3, ha!

Thanks for the correction on the pkg. abbreviation. I supposed since the Sunroof & Leather package automatically includes Sight & Sound, it would look silly to call it the SSSL!

Let the real moisture seep out once I get to actually drive it home on Sunday.

Thanks for the help. As for driving to work, I am not walking 5-7 mins in -5 degree (sometimes -20 with windchill) weather with snow above my ankles in dress pants. I do walk a lot in the summer, except when i need to use my lunch break to pick up my child from school .

I always park in my attached garage, so my car stays warm enough inside for those 3 blocks

You guys don't seem to know how the internet works. When someone enters a conversation with the announcement that they are moist, all existing topics are suspended while we make virtual grunting noises and beat on our virtual chests.

Oook, ook.

Exactly.... ahh, the magical interwebs!

I figured this ridiculous thread was a good way to get my feet wet with the community, and announcing my level of moisture was no small part of that.

Anyhooo... how could one not get moist when you're about to buy your first EVO? I will make a more formal (and wetter) introduction once I drive my baby home this weekend, and post some nice pics as well.

Don't worry the moistness residue cleans off the leather seats pretty well...

Now I worry about two things. First, the thread title of "take a second to read this" no longer applies, given that we're on page three. Second, at some point we'll have to explain to the kids that not all moist people that you meet on the internet are actually women; some are men with poor hygiene and weak social skills.
