With all the news of mitsu going green, I-MIEV's, et all, I was pleasantly surprised to see this:

This is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution FQ-440 MR. It was done up to celebrate Mitsubishi's 40th anniversary in the UK. As you can probably guess from its name, its 2.0-liter turbo four has been tuned to a mind-bending, unfathomable, insanely insane, I pee my pants just thinking about it 440 horsepower and 412 pound-feet of torque.

Interesting that they used the SST. I haven't followed the SST or Evo X stuff much at all, but from what I recall the stock clutches struggled to deal with higher amounts of torque. I wonder if Mitsubishi made some new clutch parts for this car, or if they just used some off-the-shelf stuff from an existing company.
I can't imagine they'd leave it as-is with 400+ ft-lbs of torque and still apply a warranty. Unless the stock SST has been much improved since last time I checked.

i dont consider the evo X a real evo, there just turbo lancers mitsubishi didn't make it unique like the 8/9 with the 4G63. Even the n/t lancer has a 4b11 and to add insult to injury so does the genesis turbo so the Evo X lost my respect imo

MmmK, thanks for that...

Quite a few non-Evos have the 4g63, too. I don't consider that insulting.

Manufacturers normally quote flywheel numbers. Subtract ~ 15% from those numbers and most X's with a FP Green or higher make the same or higher for much less $$$.
