How much should it cost to have wing removed
I have a 2013 evo X gsr, and I am looking to have the rear wing removed. I got a quoted from a local shop and they told me it would be ~$700 to have the wing removed, and then weld the holes shut and repaint the trunk. Does that sound about right to anyone? I live in the laurel, maryland area.

Or even someone with a regular Lancer... they make it in cosmic blue. I'm sure that you can find someone willing to swap. There's no shortage of non-Evos out there with some Evo stuff on them. Or maybe just repaint a used wingless trunk. That would cost way less.
That being said, the price you were quoted at is high, but you're not going to find anything really cheap out there. Like some have said, you can remove it yourself (though it's going to take a few hours, especially if you're going to do a good job), and either live with the holes or just plug them with something.
You can go with a carbon fiber trunk, but they're hit-or-miss, and more frequently they are misses... from the knock-offs lacking in quality to even the better ones still not fitting perfectly, something is going to be a little off... and then there's the fading. I put an authentic Do-Luck trunk on my Evo IX for several months, and I couldn't wait to put my stock trunk back on. It was nice to be able to open the trunk without worrying about it catapulting up while not having to push the trunk in a specific way to get it to shut.

Grammar police. <$500 ** haha
& to OP, like everyone else said. I would look to trade, maybe you'd even get money on top since you have the wing. Personally I like the carbon fiber trunks with a lip on the end but that's just me
