Hail damage

Was at a meeting earlier today here in VA and out of no where a tornado and hail comes through. Here and gone in less than 10 minutes.

Unfortunately it looks like the Xmr took a beating at every angle. I'm beyond pissed but here goes the bs with insurance.

Just seeing if anyone else has been through this with an evo x. I'm an electronics man not a body type guy. What are things to look for and consider. I know I'm gonna be screwed at resale value now but I don't know what else to do.

Sucks but it's not like I can pitch rocks at the sky.

Bummed X owner here.

Can't get you pics until better light in morning. But as I said every panel got battered by marble size hail. Only the spoilers and bumpers seem unaffected.

If they total the car - buy it back and have a bodyshop do the 'paintless dent removal' with dry ice (or do it yourself)...

Need pix for us to offer better advice...

I couldn't help but cringe looking at those. That's terrible. I hope all turns out well for you!

I have hail damage as well. I'll be taking it in Wednesday to get the insurance agent to check it out. Every panel is damaged as well and the paint has cracked in two places already. I think it'll be around $5-6k in damage. That's based off the lady's bill for hail damage with her Mazda 3.

I'll know Tuesday what's up from insurance company. I'll keep all posted. Hopefully everyone is havin a safe holiday weekend.

For those who are grounded like me, the question is if my baby is totaled should I so another mR or a gsr. Hardware wise all I'm in on what I have now is just tires, brakes, accessport, injen pipping, sst fluid.

Doubt they'll salvage it. My Mom's 5 year old Civic had worse hail damage than that and they covered the paint + body work. Keep in mind the Civic blue booked for probably $10k less than an X.

With the abilities now of paintless dent removal techs I highly doubt they would salvage it.

A skilled pdr tech can make a car look new for 2-5 grand. Like mentioned above, since we are talking about 30k + cars, the insurance company won't total it out, there's no way. It would cost them so much more money to do that. Just make sure you look over every inch of the car when you get it back! Don't let them tell you that it's as good as we can get it. ( some pdr's can't be completely removed). If that's the case, tell them you need it to go to an actual body shop. There they will ether shop the dent, or replace the panel.
