AEM A/F gauge stuck at 14.8???

Exactly what it says, it worked fine this AM but this PM on my way home I noticed it stopped working was locked at 14.8

Any ideas what it could be? Sensor, gauge? Wiring?

Any input would be great.

Test the sensor.
Remove it, get a rag with a little fuel on it and wrap it around the sensor.
Is the sensor shows rich it's working, if it doesn't move time to replace the sensor.

Could be the sensor or wiring. How old is it? Since it is cheap (maybe free), I would start by inspecting the wiring, especially close to the sensor (where it's likely to see a lot of heat).

Yep check the wiring, or the connector first to make sure it's actually hooked up. Next test would to be the gas test mentioned. Only things that could be wrong. It's a good general rule of thumb to change out the sensor once a year for good safety measures.

I feel like I end up replacing my O2 sensors (wideband or otherwise) every couple years. They jsut go bad and replacing them is never the end of the world really.

AEM widebands suck and the sensors are garbage and inaccurate. I would buy a proper wideband like an NGK AFX which comes with a NTK sensor that is compatible with all types of fuels and will last years and years without issues

Just my $0.02

Thanks for the feedback! Ended up being a loose connection inside the gauge pod, somehow the connector dislodged itself. Back to normal now.

I will keep the other suggestions in mind if and when it starts acting up again.

Since some of us may own an AEM gauge already. Does an NTK sensor fit or work with an AEM gauge! I have an AEM Gauge...
