370z Totaled Looking at an Evo X
Recently my 09 370z was damaged in a flood and insurance considered it a total loss. Instead of hoping back into a Z i started lurking around on the forum to gain insight on possibly buying an Evo x. To cut to the chase I am a bit of a noob when it comes to the mitsubishi platform and was wondering if you guys could check out this current listening i found for an 09 modded evo x. Looks like it has some nice goodies like an exhaust and the boost gauge as well as low miles but i cant tell if it was beaten by a previous owner. Any feedback on this car would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot guys!

Ehhh...
I would only ever consider modded and used if it came with paper work (from a legitimate shop) and passed an inspection and a leakdown/compression test from the shop of my choosing.

The pictures look clean but I would have to see who tuned it, vehicle maintenance history and etc... But like you I came from nissans(350z, R32, R33) and I don't regret purchasing the Evo best car I've ever owned.

on a separate but related note, I might suggest that many people who modify their cars tend to pay spectacularly close attention to service and maintenance.
IMO, try to find yourself a nice low-mileage MY11+ if possible. Better timing chain FTW. If you do buy a modded one, at least do a compression test and find out where and by whom it was tuned.
I went from a 2009 370Z to a 2010 Evo and I am glad I did. 90% of Evo's will be beaten on...that's why we buy them...other than launching, which is not what an AWD car is meant to do, don't worry about it. Every car is a gamble and you can't predict the future. Evo is a better car in every way so get one and enjoy it.
"...wait, you can't just bolt on a SRI, UICP, LICP, New IC and Turbo Back Exhaust and red line it all over town?! I need a tune? That's stupid!"
I would have to disagree with your statement.
+1 for considering a modded car though if the owner kept all Maintenance and Modding/Tuning records from the shop(s)! That is what makes one of the differences between modding and ricing....right?

(I even have my gas receipts.)
OP, knowing it's modded is good though, it sets the stage for questions and if the buyer is a mindful modder he will be both proud of what he achieved with the car as well as happy to answer any inquiries from like minded car guys asking about the history on the vehicle.
Good luck.
