I guess it sounds like a new safety feature.

I think of it as a nice driver assist. It only goes off if you're really tearing into a turn. It's a nice reminder for a road you may not know super well, so I don't see a downside. There have been a few occasions where it let me know about an upcoming hard turn I had no idea was coming. <shrug> I find no harm in it, and find it kind of funny because I can set it off with my wife and we find it amusing to do so.

I have a 2013 MR with nav and what you are suggesting is ridiculous. My car makes no audible alert.

Are you sure you don't have the rest reminder enabled in the multi information display?

I have heard it in my 14 gsr with no navi. In my case I don't think it's a safety feature because I can only hear it when the radio is off. Sounds like the southwest dong sound.

Just to clarify...whats the southwest dong sound?

My 14 MR Touring Non-Nav makes no such noise...

I am curious about the dong though LOL

You pretty much proved his point.

Are you suggesting that the oncoming curve warning is ridiculous and doesn't exist? Or it is ridiculous that the car makes this alert noise?

Just got dong #5 today. I was going over an overpass, but one lane left of the turn-off lane. I was going straight. Seems like it's a hit or miss thing.

Pretty sure this happens in my car when my phone pairs with the bluetooth system.

2011 gsr here can confirm no doorbell noises for me. Sounds like an annoying feature considering it only does it when it feels like it seems.

It only does it when you are doing 2x the speed limit approaching a sharp curve.

Sounds like a pretty good safety feature, sometimes ha ha.
