electronic dong noise in cabin

For the 4th time now I've heard this dong sound in the cabin while driving. Does anyone know what it might be? The sound is made by some kind of speaker, it isn't mechanical. It also doesn't interfere or interupt the radio. I'm driving a 2014 mr with only 2500km on it. It's definately a dong, and not a ding.

This was killing me too.

Lane curve warning ahead. It knows a sharp curve is coming so it warns you.

If you are going too fast into an upcoming turn, it will alert you. Try going through a curve normal speed, then like a boss. You'll get the chime to happen when you are pulling off the boss maneuver.

Just don't wrap yourself around a tree.

2014 MR here, normal, and I kind of like it once I knew what it was.

I said the same thing, if I'm going fast on a curve, it's for a good reason.

so...is this only on certain trims of the MR. I have a 14 MR touring and i dont ever hear a "dong" or any noise (other than tires squealing) when flying through corners.

I think it's a very safe assumption that it has to have the navigation in order to know that you are approaching a corner too fast

It seems like it only does it on major roads. Otherwise I would have heard it about 4000 times by now. It doesn't seem to care how fast I take corners tho.

rofl ok. Yes a navigation that chimes when you're going 2x speed into a turn, though it doesn't brake for you or do anything. What a nanny car I have!!

Idiot.

No dong on my 13 GSR with Nav. I wonder if the 14 GSR has it or if it's just a MR thing?
