this haha people that say that usually have little no no knowledge in what they'r talking about, or are full of it. A good body shop will fix it like it never happened

You can't exactly replace that part though. Some parts of the body are impossible to get to (fender welds), without tearing cutting into the body.

The people that say "it will never be the same" are people that have taken their cars to any backstreet repair shop that will do the job quick and cheap. They are not people that take their cars to reputable shops and spend the extra time and money to make sure that it is taken care of.

My FI backed his STi into a short barrier at a worksite, it was dark and he was exhausted. The rear quarter panel was the only damage and the door alignment was awful. We took it to three different shops that we have heard great things about, picked the one that gave us the most confidence, and three weeks later you could not tell that the car had been at a shop. They repainted and blended all of the panels that connected, checked the alignment on everything, etc.

I won't say it doesn't suck, it certainly sucks but you know better than to listen to the "it'll never be the same" crap. Is it possible that there are cameras that might have caught the accident wherever it was parked?

Nothing is impossible in this world if you have $$$, heck my neighbor had a boob job and you can't even tell that it was except it's bigger now.

Hell with enough money you can put ***** on an Evo and make it look natural lol

In my experiences good body shops aren't ridiculously more expensive than the crappy ones, sometimes they are even cheaper. Boob jobs are certainly something that you shouldn't cheap-out on though.

Do ya think it could have happen out side of the apartment complex and you just didn't notice
it. And just happen to see the damage at your apartment? Just saying. But that does suck, I'd
say around 25 hund to 3 grand for repair.

Got a quote from one shop for 650, next shop took quite a bit more time to make the estimate and came up with 1900. Second shop actually sounded like they knew what they were talking about.

the first quote sounds too little. Second one seems more legit. I wouldn't cheap out on something like this..

Also ask what kind of warranty comes with the repair as well. Like would they cover it if the paint ever faded or bubbled or if they use bondo to smooth it were to crack, since most likely they will be doing some paint on that damage.

I have a blackvue system with front and rear cameras that record 24-7 - worth looking into if you think it might happen again....

Yours does look like it was intentional. Doesn't seem like someone could have run into your car and left that damage. Looks like someone opened their door as hard as they could into your panel.
That's the thing - when you leave a lot of space between you and the car next to you, I've noticed that it automatically gives asshats the freedom to fling their doors open all the way. When I've been dinged, I probably would have been better off actually parking closer....can never win these battles....

Was there a news story or something. That's crazy! What gives him the right?

I too and feeling some of this in Michigan where half the people here work for Ford/GM/Chrysler and absolutely hate my car.

Thankfully I've never had someone do anything to the car yet.... can't imagine.

A bonehead ran into my passenger side quarter/door last summer. The repair turned out well. There's no reason for your car not to be the same again. Good luck.
