Feel Like Killing something

So came out of my apartment to find this. No obvious violator in sight of course and no vehicle parked next to mine. Guess everyone saw the ding and stayed away out of fear of being accused. Started a comprehensive claim today, going to a body shop to get a quote tomorrow. Already have had the "it will never be the same again" line from my employees. Door gap is extremely different than that of the driver's side door. Curious if anyone has had their rear quarter panel repaired successfully.

Someone did that intentionally with malice. Based on the height, I'd say it was a truck. Any truck drivers around you that dislike you or your car? I'd start there. There should be paint on the edge of their door too, if you find a truck that looks like the culprit.

Really sorry man, that's a huge bummer and hope you get it sorted ok. There was another EVO owner that had a guy go insane and work his entire car over with a baseball bat. Literally not a panel wasn't impacted. He got it fixed like new, so hopefully you can too!

Good luck!!

That's the thing, my wife and I keep to ourselves. No enemies what so ever. I did see a kia sportage with a freshly broken off driver's side rear door handle right on level with my damage, but what can I do? Not like I have video.

Check it for paint transfer. If it has some, call the cops and let them decide. Then if proof positive, get their insurance involved, not your own.

Dont worry as long as you goto a good body shop they will be able to fix that no problem! If anything when they have to blend the paint with the door maybe it will eliminate some rock chips as well!

Some people just hate japanese cars (veterans, muscle car heads, etc). Then throw in the neighbor that hates waking up to your loud exhaust, subbie drivers, teenagers, and you wonder why your car makes it day to day out in the open.

Really sucks and sorry to hear that. Probably not an option, but maybe check to see if there are any security cameras?

An evom user came out to a veteran on veterans day spray painting the # of a downed ship from world war II on the side of his evo. The veteran ended up getting beat up and sent to jail, just wish people would keep away from others property.

Damn, that sucks. I've noticed that my Evo is a door ding magnet. Every time I go somewhere, I purposely park away from most cars, and everytime I come out to find some a$$hat parked unreasonably close with a fresh ding on my door. Yours does look like it was intentional. Doesn't seem like someone could have run into your car and left that damage. Looks like someone opened their door as hard as they could into your panel.

I wouldn't worry about the repair. Take it to a good local body shop and you won't be able to tell that it was fixed. People that say "it'll never be the same" are full of it. A good shop can restore pretty much any body damage (with part replacement if necessary) to new condition with the proper application of time + money.
