473 HP final edition Evo x
meh...I'm done with Mitsu. They abandoned the Evo, why should I be a loyal peasant when they aren't even loyal to their own product. Just bought a 14 MR....actually two(the first was totalled in an accident) and now I'm pretty sure I'm going to trade it in for a 2014/15 M3.
It's laughable and I've wanted an Evo for over five years but every one has caught up, just like others manufacturers have caught up to the iPhone. Evos and STIs used to get respect in the streets now everyone makes 300hp annnnd 30mpg. Spending money to get an Evo to perform seems a loosing proposition not to mention that there is zero dealer support for the car. Look at BMW, they are proud of their car and offer aftermarket parts and even support tunning from places like Dinnan, sh#t, even Subaru loves their STI...they sell a crap ton of SPT parts for it and even have exactly that "I love my STI/REX" shirts for sale.
I feel sad and love my Evo but it isn't the performance car it once was....one things for sure though, there aren't any other cars besides an STI that can tear up a track, then barrel down a mountain with 3 feet high snow.
It'll be interesting to see what they charge for this(too effing much) and more to see how a dealership reacts when something goes wrong.
Interesting enough, the new M3/M4s use twin Mitsubishi turbos....how ironic.

The biggest problem is that the horsepower has to be turned up after the purchase to complete the car. 300hp was cool back when a 4.6 V8 in a Mustang GT made 300 horsepower.
Now 400hp is the new 300hp and Mitsu's cars can still get to 400 but "not officially" which simply ruins any conversation where an Evo owner tries to compare their bolt-on car against a factory 400hp car.
If anything I always enjoyed the FQ series even though we never got them purely because I can refer to the performance of those cars to show how well the Evo platform scales with just some horsepower. Without those no one believes you when you say with 400hp the 0-60 improves by almost a full second. Now I can point out the FQ400/440/470 and say "here is what this car does with some more power" when faced with a naysayer. It also proves the engine is good enough to make more power with upgrades.
Either way I'm just glad to have yet a higher horsepower "factory" Evo that I can compare numbers with whenever I get my car modded to 470hp.

I may get flamed here, which I don’t mind. Further not here to troll. However, I feel like there’s a set mentality when dealing with the majority of EVO X owners; which is win or go home. What about the marginal enthusiasts loving the car in its original form – off the show room – with all its attributes and properties – I4 turbo, super advanced AWD, Brembo, Recaro, etc.
There’s a contingent of EVO owners that’s not hell bent modifying the vehicle to match other manufacture’s 400HP monsters. I for one, didn’t acquire my EVO to smoke the STi, K24A swapped vehicles or the M3. Rather, wanted it for its incredible driving experience enhanced throughits original form….
Find me another manufacture and model that can roughly perform at the same level at around the $40k mark. A new BOSS 302 can run up to $50K.

I agree with Howat. No car handles or performs like an evo, without heavy modification to the suspension and all that. At least in the $40k range, so that excludes supercars, sure maybe a gtr can compare, but thats over $100k new, which is $60k more than a brand new evo. A lot of people buy evo's to mod them, not that many people keep them stock. And if you put that extra 60k into your evo, youll be miles ahead of gtrs and supercars in every way.
What makes you think that the reason for folks modifying their cars here is to race an STI? You ever think that they just want to have a faster car?
Right, people want faster cars so they may feel better about themselves or get to the grocery store faster
My point is factory conditioned EVO is awesome and it's OK to let that ride.
