Yes, basically. Just got it did some cosmetic mods, have some IC piping on the way, and planning a HFC, exhaust, EBC, and tune. Have Cosworth drop in installed. Might do an intake as well.

If you are not in Cali I would strongly suggest a test pipe and moore 3.5 inch intake. If e85 is near you def get a dual tune!

That takes some talent to mess up an STI transmission, they are very stout. I would say the person you know has no clue how to drive and or totally abused the car. That is the one part of the STI that is much better than our Evo's and messing one up with stage 2 power would be very very hard to do; I miss having a transmission that wasn't "weak".

Yeah im not going to say that he was the best driver in the world LOL.... He was the second owner, the first owner already had some stuff done it and im sure he or she didnt play nice with it!!!! He later found out when he went to sell the car that it had been in a nasty wreck before he got it From what he told me, the place he tried to trade it in at pulled some other report (Car tracker??? not Car fax) and it said the car had frame damage...... long story short, the original dealer ended up buying the car back form him... and now he has a 335i

You should test drive an STi before you make a decision. It's great car stock. The Evo is better for making power though.

My buddy just got a 15 STI and if I were to compare stock for stock I think the STI is a much better daily driver. The ride is not as harsh, the interior looks way nicer and the steering wheel feels better. I love the stock exhaust note on it. If it weren't for 2F2F I prob would have been an Subbie fan.

The EJ are horrible engines. I have a 2007 STi, I'm the original owner and have been through hell and back with it. Stock tune is garbage from factory. My 4th cylinder finally went. Long story short I've gone through three engines on it and now putting a stock OEM back in, taking it back to stock and selling it. I'm going to get a 2014 evo x

I have seen sooooo many people go through motors like butter, even stock ones. You will experience nothing but a headache
