Keep my EVOX or buy a STI

I have a 08 EVOX and considering to switch to something different. 2015 STI is one of the car I am interested in. Considering the chasis and suspension design, 2015 STI is a big upgrade from earlier years. Should I pulll the trigger? Will this be an upgrade? Anyone who ever test drove 2015 STI please chime in. Thanks.

It's a horrible idea. The engine is a 10 year old design prone to failure. I had an 08 STi, great car for about 100k then headgasket blew and warped the shortblock. Save yourself some pain. If your'e really interested in an STi, wait for a new engine in it.

The 2015 STi is not a big upgrade from earlier years because the engine is the same. Is the suspension better? Sure, but the hear of it will let you down in the long run, trust me.

Do you mean, buy the Subaru and then upgrade the pistons?

I bought the 15 STI, possibly the first sold in my area so I have had to deal with all the service bulletins (trunk, up pipe, rear end) plus I had a defective screen. I never had an X, but I had a IX. The IX's motor was so much better than the Sti motor, stock or with just a tune/exhaust. The motor is a turd. Other than that, I like the car. It kind of feels like the IX with a boost leak and a lot more sound deadening and less rattles, but it likes to move the rear around instead of the flat 4 wheel drifts. Subaru dealers are nicer to deal with.

FWIW I had a Boss 302 between the IX and the Sti, and I will never own another new Ford. It was a true piece of ****, and the motor, trans, brakes were issues from the first drive out of the dealership until the last drive when I traded it in. I fought with Ford for a year to get a caliper that was leaking replaced, and it was leaking when I got it home from the dealer after purchasing the car. That's just one example, and the only one that they actually fixed. I had to push my car out of the driveway because reverse never worked... so yeah, the RS is not on my list. The IX, for reference, never saw the dealer once I drove it off the lot. 100% reliable, despite many track days, tuning, etc. So maybe I was just due

My Mustang was also the worst car I have ever owned and the only car I have bought new.

dumb move. I know of personally a guy with a 15 sti that already blew up at 2000 miles. Its the same **** theyve been selling just repackaged. The next sti will most likely have the FA engine in it, but thats also knew and we dont know how great it is/ is not. I would either keep your evo, buy a newer one if you simply just want a newer car, or wait on what else comes popping around in the same price point.

Keep the EVO!
I personally dislike the way the Subi sounds. Like it's misfiring/broken.
That's enough for me not to buy one. I couldn't handle hearing that all day.

I would either get a nice new 14X or even better, why not use all the money that would be spent on a newer model, and upgrade the heck out the one you have?
