hit and run.

So shortly after returning home from long beach, was hanging out with the wife about to go to sleep when i hear a car driving quicker than normal up and down our residential street, thinking nothing of it i just stayed in bed and didn't check it out when i hear the horrendous bone shriveling noise of metal on metal & plastic cracking
- look out my bedroom window to see a charger reversing through my neighbors driveway into my driveway and had backed into my ****ing car.
Frantically i ran downstairs to try and chase him as he speeds in excess of 50 through my tiny development roads. called the base police (on camp pendleton CA) but still no luck with them finding the culprit and doubt anything will arise from it.

I'm really bummed, pretty ****ed front bumper, half of its just hanging there & the worst thing about it was the 6-10 neighbors who all 'watched this happen' couldn't remember the ****ing 7 full digits & plate state for the car. DBE 429 _ silver/grey charger.

- anyways, I've been up for a hour or so just looking at my options with insurance/ not reporting it. Full coverage of course but, what would you all do personally. ill post some pictures of the damage tomorrow morning after i finish a couple more adult beverages to try to unwind.

thanks

Sorry to hear man, that really sucks... really sucks!!

Curious why wouldn't you just call insurance? You'd only be out your deductible...

You have enough of the plate to make a match. Get the police involved.

Get insurance involved. Your rates shouldn't go up. Just curious where in CBAD you at?

i ****ing hope so, actually no i hope he's in a ditch somewhere. but thats beside the point.
deductible is 300 for uninsured motorist protection, found a recommended shop down in SD county from a bunch of local SD evo people so going to take it down there tomorrow.

- raising the car up & taking off the wheel to check to see if theres more damage than meets the eye early in the morning , it did start pretty rough earlier this evening so my fingers are crossed.

I am pretty sure the gates have cameras and take pictures of every car coming through. Find the Charger with before/after and shows the damage. It sounds like they are not trying very hard.

yeah i couldn't agree more, i went to the local police & was told that since i filed my report with the base police that they can't make another report, they also told me that the base should be using the same database to search for the car & with 6 of the 7 digits it should be rather easy for them to find the car.
- going to stop by the magistrate/base police HQ tomorrow & try to get the ball rolling with all of this.

Caliber Collisions in Carlsbad did a great job fixing mine. Service was quite good as well.
