Vibration at higher speed

Hey guys just wanted to see if anybody could help me out on figuring out why my X vibrates when going at 80 mph+. It's like steady pulses of vibrations that I get which can be felt and heard on the highway. I got the wheels balanced but that didn't solve a thing. I also have to mention that I don't have the stock clutch. I have no idea what clutch it has because I bought the car used

Nope. Brand new tires were mounted on last year. It feels like the vibration is coming from under the center of the dash. I'm not sure if it could be a bearing or something?

hmmm anytime ive heard of this before is there has got to be a small tire defect. I think there is another type of balance machine that can balance tires at a higher speed. But of course there could be the issue of a bad axle or wheel bearing as well. But i would be suprised if it was any of those and not a small tire defect.

I'm starting to suspect that it is. That or it could be related to my transmission problems *sigh*

I wouldnt think a transmission issue would cause a vibration issue like that lol. I would think if it is it will be going boom very soon.

If you had a tire defect, or a rim issue, I would say you could feel that in the steering wheel. But you're feeling it down low under the dash. My guess is it's axle/ bearing related.

Well I guess I will just have to wait until I send it out to get the tranny rebuilt in a couple months for the dealer to take a look at it.

have someone make sure your tire weights are not loose, or my buddy had the same thing at 80+ mph and it was a loose tpms sensor.... took 3 shops to figure it out.... dealer couldn't find an issue failed lolol

I think I'll try using my friends wheels and test that theory out, but I'm pretty sure it's not the wheels

Or just rotate front wheels to back and see if the problem moves...

Is the vibration constant under acceleration and deceleration, or one or the other?

Constant. I can start to feel it once I get to about 75 and barely feel it if it's under 75
