My girlfriend wanted a Mitsu SUV so badly, but for an S-AYC sport model, it was $2,000 less than a stock trim GSR Evo. Seriously Mitsu? $33,000 for a micro SUV with Mitsu's quality and finish already crap on all of their non-Evo line of cars.

Guess the Mitsubishi plant in Thailand where the Mirage is made needs some increased quality control. Can't say I am all that surprised.

Also, if the Recaros were removed because they didn't comply with safety standards, how does the upcoming focus RS have recaros? I realize it wouldn't be the same model seat, but it shows that simply the brand itself isn't a good excuse for excluding them.

I think the saddest thing is seeing the company that changed the game a few times just turn around and fizzle so unremarkably.
The recaros in the focus are considerably different (I have an ST, and they are great, but not the same as the X seats, which I feel had even more thigh bolstering than the ST).

My guess is that the Recaro seats would've needed to be redesigned to comply with the 2015 regs for the US, and mitsubishi wasn't about to spend the money to do that, considering that they hate being in the "performance" category at all (see: ceo talking about being all electric/hybrid within a few years... yay?).

I had the misfortune of sitting in a 2015 evo at the dealer. Nothing more sad than having a $42k sticker with seats from the $12k base model lancer in it. I told the salesman there was no possible way I'd buy the car with those garbage seats, and he said that the majority of people buying the 2015 "love" the new seats and hated the recaros... not sure if selling to old fat people versus enthusiasts, or just full of crap.

I'd love to get a set of leather IX seats for my galant, but I assume that they've become even more desirable now.

Hrmmmm, I'm pretty sure I already told everyone this when all the "ZOMG 400+ HP FINAL EDITION" rumors started 8 months ago

It's not strange at all. 9 times out of 10 the answer to "Why isn't the US getting ___?" in the car world is emissions. The FQ440 would have cost Mitsubishi over 10k per unit to get US emissions speced.

They use to when Ralliart was still in operation. They are not a Motorsport driven company any more.

Ralliart Engine ecu
Ralliart ACD ECU

Lol funny how it increases 22 hp and we disregard it as anything, BUT when say a civic or any other car gains 22 hp, it's big big news.

When a civic increases by 22 hp, that's a 10% gain which makes it substantial(not like Honda is a player in the performance car world these days anyway), when an Evo does it, it's minute.

The final edition should have been something special.

Worth it?

Hi, if the final edition is only 313hp. Is it worth the $70k price tag?.. wouldn't it be better if you purchased the Ryan Gates 311rs?

Which is a BADASS car. So beautiful. I saw it at the Twin Cities Auto Show this year. Had a great chat with Ryan! He built an amazing machine!
