Is my Evo JDM or USDM?

My vin number starts with J, I also noticed a few different little things that I have that my friends Evo doesn't have, like the E brake and my headlight main harness is different.

Both my evos VINs start with J and they are both USDM. Original owner of the VIII since it had 6 miles on the odo and was there when my friend bought the X I DD now. If you bought the car in the US and are still in Indiana it's most likely USDM.

Are you saying the e-brake handle is different?

I've never used this before but under the tools tab there's the Vin Decoder

It says mine was made in Japan on the site. The reason im asking is because of the Cobb Accessport. My ebrake handle is fancier than my friends. It says evolution on it and its chromish and metallic. His is just black

Every Evo is made in Japan. then they're shipped to their appropriate markets. And in regards to your e brake the previous owner probably just upgraded it. It's a $300 piece and can be bought from dealerships or vendors.

And I ordered aftermarket evo x headlights from VIPmotoz which have 100 percent feedback, best customer service ever by the way. The metal contacts are 2 millimeters thicker than my headlight main plug. They told me it's probably not a USDM because they should fit and no one else seems to have a problem with them.
