Good level of Horsepower for a Daily Driver Evo X
What are your guys opinion on the level of horsepower for a Evo x used everyday. I don't want to have constant issues and don't want to being spending tons on fuel but obviously it's an evo x and it's gonna drink up all the gas anyway.
I'd say around 400 WHP. I have 450 WHP on 93 and 500WHP on e85 and still get 26 mpg when running 93 on cruise control at 75mph. But if i'm in it at all i get single digits. All depends on the right foot.
I have bolt ons and i run 93 usually my mix of good bad driving usually nets me about 20 ish mpgs average. But to be honest i have a daily and could kind of care less about the gas milage this car gets. But if your good to it and do all highway without getting into it you will get about 25.

I get about 25-27 mpg during commute with light traffic(70 miles round trip).
During rush hours, I am still able to get 22mpg+ consistently(I use back roads a lot and I know my ways around).
I don't drive slow either... I might not hit full boost everyday, but I do hit boost every chance I get.
I would say the car is lot more fuel efficient after it is tuned.

better breathing and a tune is all good. cams make the most sense when you get bigger turbo. i'm keeping stock besides boltons only and a tune. From my old evo 9 i learned not to build too hardcore for street enjoyment.

I love my daily driver tune, 335whp/315wtq on crappy AZ 91 with conservative timing and boost. Plenty fun on the street and still gets 27mpg. Adding a MAP 02 dump so I should be able to squeeze a little more out of it

If only DD no drag or other types of straight line racing then stock turbo on e85 is all u need. With exhaust and fuel upgrades you can hit 380 whp without any drama.
If you are racing or into doing highway pulls the car really starts to feel fast above 450 whp. FP green/ MHI-18k is the way to go for most bang for buck. I daily drive my MHI-18k at 450 whp and its just perfect. I do get like 13-14 mpg city on corn though lol
