AYC Yaw / G Sensors

I'm aware of the primary sensor between the front seats in the center console, part number 4670A059. I would like some help with part numbers and descriptions of the two door pillar sensors (between the front and rear door), one on either side of the car, and the sensor mounted on the rear seat deck, centered.

Does anyone have these part numbers and or additional information for what these sensors are responsible? I appreciate the help. Thanks

So, no one? Nothing? No details on what they do? Not one little part number for the sensors on the door pillar or behind the rear seat?

Well, see, I thought that too. But there are three other sensors, in addition to the center console (main one). There is a sensor mounted on the door pillar, between the front and rear doors, on either side, and a sensor mounted on the frame behind the rear seat back.

To your point, I'm not sure what exactly they do and so was hoping that someone could grab the part numbers of those sensors for me, so I could do some research. Thanks.

Ok, I figured it out. The other three sensors, one on either door pillar and one centered behind the seat, are not G or Yaw sensors. They are the receivers for the keyless door and trunk entry. The other poster was correct, only one G and Yaw sensor.

Sometimes my stupidity surprises even me.

glad this thread is here...can you show me or give me a good idea of where exactly the g and yaw sensor is located?seems like mine is gone only getting a reading of -1.27 G when it should be between -0.11 to +0.11 G with vehicle stopped leading to abs and asc off indicator lights coming on and associated warnings.

is it located right between the passenger and driver floor console side covers?
i attached a diagram of the floor console assembly if anyone can tell me exactly where it is located would be much appreciated!

and also haven't found any info regarding that this sensor goes bad so can it just be some other problem?once i know the exact location i think i should be able to atleast make sure the connectors are good and test it b4 purchasing a new replacement
thanks for any info anyone can provide

Sorry for the delay. The G sensor is directly under the center console. Easy to reach once you remove the e brake plastic cover piece. The sensor can go bad, and will throw codes typically (2202?).

Anyway, I'm concerned because recently, when the car takes the rumbles (apex or track out) or under very heavy braking on uneven surfaces (turn 8 of Watkins for example), and the back end shuffles around, the sensor will throw a code, turning off acd, abs, etc and turning the car into fwd only. This is bad when at speed on the racetrack.

I want to swap the sensor to see if that changes things and clears up the code.

Thanks for the reply man...located it exactly where u said...well anyway got DTC codes:
c1210 straight g sensor input circuit Active

c1242 straight g sensor signal Stored

c2204 sensor cluster internal error Active

u1428 sensor cluster active(CAN message) Active

All codes point to the g and yaw rate sensor malfunction....got it a couples weeks ago...changed battery(new red top optima) and after the ecu cycled they went away but now are back(haven't tracked the car...mostly stop/go traffic and some spirited highway driving) and seems like the sensor has completely gone....already ordered one and should have it by thursday.

also some data stream values(done with old battery still in)
G sensor -1.27 G (reads exactly same value again now)
G sensor offset 0 G
power supply voltage 11.60 V (reads 12.3 v ign on and 14.1-14.3 engine on now with optima)
power supply voltage (input) 11.80 V (same here as above)
lateral g sensor 0.01 G
lateral g sensor offset -0.00 G
yaw rate sensor 0 deg/s
yaw rate sensor offset 0 deg/s

have u swapped out urs yet?if u did must a M.U.T. 3 scan tool be used to 'relearn the neutral point' according to the service manual? or just replace with the new one would suffice?
Used a launch master x431(first edition) to diagnose the problem codes but seems to be missing the "relearn" feature under 'special functions'

Any help/advice/any feedback from anybody would be much appreciated!
cheers

P.S. can an alignment issue cause this?don't think the previous owner had ever done a realignment as i know the factory alignment is rubbish but waiting on new rims/tires to have it realigned but if this could be the reason would have it done now and then again with the new wheels

just swap the sensor? there's a bunch of wrecked evo's on fb groups, bet you could pick one up for cheap.

I was going to say alignment problems can contribute to rear end swimming under braking, but out of all the alignment problems i've had with my evo at the track, not one of them ever threw a light. In 3 instances, my right rear toe arm was flopping inside its eccentric groove as the bolt wouldn't stay tight. That's a scarey feeling while on a high speed sweeper.

whoa yeah that definitely must be scary to experience!

yeah really doubt it's an alignment issue...well i already bought a brand new sensor lol...had to be special ordered as shops don't usually stock these cuz they almost never go bad...so hoping it's not something else entirely although i'm not getting any other DTCs indicating otherwise

Question though...according to the service manual when it is replaced it must be re-calibrated using the M.U.T. 3 scan tool for the ASC-ECU to relearn the neutral point...and well the problem is where i'm located the closest shop with this tool is located about 25 miles away..

So is ok to drive this distance...at a very slow pace ofcourse lol...with the ayc/acd/abs being completely disabled?

Probably ok. One thought, maybe your stock sensor is fine, it just needs to be recalibrated??? Just a thought.

Yes, first, just swap the sensor. If it still throws codes, you need to have the system recalibrated at the dealer... or anyone with a MUT.
