Hello all, I've joined this forum 10 years ago in 2005 when I first bought my VIII GSR, it was a car that I've dreamed about for over a decade and needless to say that was a huge dream come true. Fast forward 10 years, I still enjoyed everyday with my car but it is getting old, things are only going to break more often and cost more to fix, it'd only depreciate more the longer I wait and that 2015 is the last year Evo will be sold in USA so I went ahead and made the switch to a X GSR. It was really hard to part with the car but I'm glad I made the switch, the old girl gave me 10 good years and hopefully my new baby would give me at least that much more

Haha yeah one of the first things I noticed is the better turning radius along with a few other things. Definitely like the front better it looks much more aggressive than the 8, the interior looks better in general whereas the 8 it feels like all the money are under the hood. Not a big fan of the plastic dash and the gear shift doesn't feel as "crisp". Trunk space is abysmal, not saying the 8 is MUCH better but the 10's is ridiculous especially with the SS package. Overall I'm very thrilled, brought back the exact feeling I had 10 years ago and loving it.

 

What's hilarious to me, is this is my first EVO, the EVO X and it has the worst turning radius of any car I've owned lol. My wife is constantly poking fun because her car can literally do 5 u-turns in a spot that would have me doing a 230984190 point turn.

I can only imagine how bad the 8 was if you guys are pumped about the X!! rofl!

Exactly! And if I slip it a bit faster I could spin my car around in one place. It's also commonly called AWD Donuts.

I, too, went from a VIII to an X. I cant even say the X is less "raw" because I find myself still trying to drive something else for regular commuting...so that kind of speaks to the "rawness"of it, and I am on stock setup. After doing intake, exhaust it felt like an evo again. Stock was not doing it for me.

 

hey welcome to the evolution X club Enjoy man mine should be here in 3 weeks can't wait to have an Evolution X again.. had to sale my evo X with about 700 whp and part it out back in 2011 talk about an awful feeling to get a truck for Alaska Snow and wonderful winters haha.
