P0014 help

So I had p0014 that is cam sensor, so I checked the chain tension, and replaced the sensor and went to clear the code and it had 2 of the same codes and it let me clear one. But the other says permanent and won't let me clear it. Why is that. Am I missing something

its on a 2010 gsr

Pre 2011 the EVO X had a chance of stretching the timing chain. You need to stop driving - flat bed tow it to a shop, and have that changed immediately. Even if they changed it, they probably did it wrong as you should never have that error.

Good luck, hope you didn't lunch your engine.

P.S. Take it to a good shop, that specializes in EVO's preferably, or if you are unsure just bite the bullet and take it to the dealership.

FWIW, I had codes 16 and 17 come up about the sensors and my timing chain was fine. I did get it replaced since I was going to do it at 60K anyways but the codes never went away. turns out, there was a TSB out there for these codes and they had to reprogram it (which the dealership told me that my ECU was bad because it was tuned LOL). I don't know if that touches your tune at all but I didn't care as I had my AP to reflash it back.

Sorry just saw this. I don't know what gets reflashed and not sure if it's just for the codes or if they rewrite the whole thing.

The TSB reprogram did work. I haven't seen the code since the reprogram last year.
